Nike and Under Armour are at the top of the industry when it comes to the apparel, and shoes. The two companies are always faced head to head when a consumer compares their products online. The company websites are similar, but they have clear differences that make one website better than the other. Both companies bring in a high revenue through their websites. Although they are similar, Nike’s website is better when it comes to appearance, navigation, and social media presence. The home page of the Nike website gives off a smooth, black and, white feel, that showcases its latest products such as shoes. The website gives off a futuristic vibe that plays along with their newest products. They front page is able to appeal and catch the attention of its website consumers. In comparison, Under Armour's website gives off a much more bland appearance. It consists of a basic white background that doesn’t draw the consumer in. It also showcases its newest products, but in a much more subtle way. Nike wins in appearance due to its ability to catch the consumer eye. …show more content…
It offers a search option for easy finding of a particular product. It also offers a variety of sub options such as men, women, boys, girls, sports and customize. When viewing Nike’s products, the consumer is given the option to narrow things down even more. You can narrow your search by what type, price range, size and even color. Under Armour’s navigation is very similar but it doesn’t go into as much detail. It offers men, women, kids, and technology. The website also offers the option to search. The consumer isn’t able to narrow down their options as much when it comes to price and color. Nike offers the more navigable website for the consumer regarding how in depth things are narrowed down
So it should come as no surprise that they focus on key demographics to sell their products. This commercial’s target audience is a range from teens and adults to women. With these audiences in mind, they change their style to fit these types of people to best sell their products. The commercial shows many men, women, and kids playing sports and wearing nike clothing. Their focus is mainly to display their many styles of apparel they have to offer as well as showing them in
My topic of choice was pretty tough. As I concluded my research on Under Armour, I can assure you that they have many areas to improve in to even be considered a major threat to Nike or Adidas. Their products are heading in the right direction, but more guidance is needed from senior correspondents that have more experience in the field of marketing and strategy. Under Armour revenues are increasing, but at the current pace, Nike will double their net gross in a year. Athletes and universities are contributing in branding Under Armour along with remaining loyal, but their apparel to me is not attractive. For starters, every major football team that I have noticed supporting them has very bland uniforms or very flashy uniforms. As the saying goes, “bad publicity is better than no publicity”; at least we are discussing them along side Nike and Adidas.
One thing I like about Nike is how accessible it is. You can find Nike products just about anywhere such as Nike outlets, Dicks Sporting Goods, Khols, Macy and other big department stores, as well as online. Some companies don’t make it as easy to find and buy their products which can be a struggle. I hate when I’m in need of a certain product but companies limit their access, and I can’t get what I need when I need it. Nike makes it easy to find and buy their products at any
The JD sports website is structured so that it is quick and easy to find any item that is available. There is a search option in the top right hand of the screen and also a list of every brand that has items on the JD sports website. The website has not currently got a site map so I cannot fully understand the site structure.
Nike’s goal is to remain unique and different from others in terms of the items offered on the market. Arguably, Nike belongs to a monopolistically competitive market as there only a few organizations with the ability to regulate the amount charged for their product which means they cannot make their prices high as this is likely to make customers move on to other available choices (Nike, Inc., 2012). However, Nike can find a balance between the prices to charge for their products and remaining competitive with other companies in the industry. Nike has formed a distinction between the appearance and performance of their footwear and that of their competitors. Although products are differentiated from other companies, they still influence each other because they are items of the same
Under Amour Company ventured into a market segment that was overcrowded, it had thousands of companies that competed against each other. Out of the many companies involved in the trade, the two most formidable threats seemed to be orchestrated by Nike and Adidas. These are two giant sports apparel and footwear, which pride themselves as having been long term veterans in the industry. Nike in particular was christened as the ultimate shoe and athletic apparel company with revenues of $18.6 billion, net income of $1.9 billion and more than thirty two thousand employees globally in the year 2008. This makes it the largest athletic shoe and apparel seller in the world. This company has seen major expansions in outlets throughout the world over the years. Adidas on its part has managed to build a powerful brand through its technological innovations and aggressive marketing where they spend up to thirteen per cent of their revenue besides offering high quality services. These scenarios seem to present Under Armour with a massive competitive disadvantage.
There are as many brands as there is ants in the world, but the two brands that pop out are adidas and nike. Those two brands have been going head to head for ages to see who is the better brand. It’s been tested, compared, and debated which brand is better. Whether it’s the quality of the materials or the cost of it, the debate is ongoing. Both brands have been fighting for the top ever since they were both created and I don’t blame them it’d be fantastic to be the best brand in the world. When Nike and adidas are contrasted, it becomes clear that the Adidas brand are better for the overall consumer and enhances sport performance than Nike.

When comparing prices, consumers can find the exact same style Nike boot in Adidas and pay a lower price. Essentially what the consumer is paying extra for is the Nike brand. Looking back at my journal you can see I wore the Adidas boots one time, then went out and bought Nike boots. “Brand loyalty is based on an emotional connection toward the brand and a conscious commitment to find this brand each time the consumer purchases from this category.” 112 Brand Promotion I could have worn the Adidas boots for free but I spent the time and money to go purchase the Nike brand. “brand loyalty and advertising work together to create another important economic effect related to pricing flexibility and profits. When consumers are brand loyal, they are generally less sensitive to price increases for the brand.” 45 Advertising and Integrated Brand Promotion Being able to raise prices but still keep the consumer market is very valuable.
