Now that we are older, I realized that probably every thing we fought about was probably out of pure ignorance. We’ve all fought with our sibling at one point or another in our lives just like Bart and Lisa in The Simpsons, or the entire family fighting in Arrested Development, or even the three children Max, Justin and Alex in Wizards of Waverly Place. Finally, these Old Testament stories demonstrate to us today that sibling rivalries can be controlled if brothers or sisters make efforts to treat one another fairly. They show us as well that it is very important for siblings to forgive one another if their rivalries lead to hard feelings or even lengthy estrangement.

In “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker, Dee and Maggie are blood-related sisters, but don’t really have a loving relationship that sisters would have. The tensions between them are clear, but being a sister they remind me of myself crying out for daddies attention when the other gets more, or I feel less like the favorite. I was born in Newark, Ohio on March 6, 2003. My mom had to have a c section with both me and my sister. My mom and dad have been together for my whole life so far. When I was born my sister Jasey was 5. I don't remember much of my younger childhood. I have always lived in the same house since I was born. I went to All-Star preschool that my sister helped build when she was younger.
Actress and model, Tia Mowry, once said, "There is nobody in the world that knows me better than my sister." I relate to this statement because it describes how my sister and I were a couple years ago. My sister, Peyton, and I had an incredible relationship growing up. We used to do everything together. Even though she is four years older than me, she would still play Bratz dolls with me and play dress up whenever I asked. As we got older, our relationship grew stronger. I told her everything, and she would do the same. I went to her for advice almost everyday. She would always help no matter how busy she was. However, that all changed once she moved to Joplin to live on her own. Once that happened, our relationship changed for the worst.
In a single moment my mom realised being born with a left cleft palate was not the end of the world. Growing up was never easy for her since she was born this way. People underestimated what she could since she went through so many surgeries and challenges. Going to school everyday became harder and harder. The faces people would make at her, the stares she would get, and the ongoing humiliation of being born this way troubled her. It was her family that was most dear to her as she grew up. My mother was named Marvelous, because my grandfather believed that in spite of it all she would be successful.
