Trujillo Assassination In the last era between the year 1943 to 1961 Trujillo ruled the Dominican Republic, many
hated him and wanted him out of power or even some wished for his death. Many people along
the way fought to overthrow the power Trujillo had over the Island. Many things led to Trujillo
assassination, many people wanted him out of power because of how he was leading the country
to discrimination, violence and misery. Trujillo assassination was well planned and was done, in

The assassination of the
sister who tried to fight for the Island to become free of the dictator, was a horrific act by that
dictator, worldwide people became cautious of violence against women. Trujillo was
assassinated a year later in 1961 by a group of men including soldiers he relied in. His
dictatorship and the actions that he made led to his assassination. Trujillo was known as “El
Chivo” which meant ladies, men, he had no respect for women and was also consider a racist,
even though he himself had a black background of Haitian ancestors, he wants to be consider
white. He tried to achieve this by using treatment and powder to make his face lighter. Trujillo
was a man that brain washed the people of the Dominican Republic even though people disliked
him, he was still a big influence on the people. He was very manipulative even when he himself
wasn’t president for a time, his voice always counted until he gains power back and had control

Dominican Republic to have an economic depression and made it hard for the people and all
because of Trujillo cruelty and impulsiveness, “that his way is the right way” which really
wasn’t.
In August of 1960 the CIA was really tired of it and started planning modern method of
Assassination, but not only toward Trujillo, but also toward Castro and against the practices of
the Congo’s of the Lumumba. The people in the Dominica Republic were also tired of Trujillo
and there were many anti-Trujillista who were willing to assassinate Trujillo. Some were afraid
of Trujillo and what his men could do to them, so they deny what the United State offer them, if
they join to help kill Trujillo. Many were in agreement and accepted the aid of weapon the US
CIA offer to carried out the assassination of “El Jefe” a name that people used to refer to
Trujillo. Trujillo later on also had problem with the Catholic Church Because they believe he
was violating human rights, which he was.

The path he traveled was not easy, but I think he believed his hard work paid off. I think if he still alive today he would probably take revenge on all those crooked politicians he had been hearing about who take bribes and shred confidential documents. They deteriorate the fabric this country was built on, and it will be a long time before it is fully repaired.

Of course it was no coincidence to anyone, it was meant by Trujillo to intimidate potential followers of the ever rising rebellion. Their fight to the end showed how they were proud and willing to fight for the better life and brake the chains of living in oppression. They proved they would not tolerate living miserably under an unjust government and this was truly inspiring. This is a genuine and desirable trait that they held strongly, and it gained them due respect and honor.

With this being said Trujillo utilized gender relation, sexual intrigue and machismo to his favor to get the citizens to jump on his bandwagon causing them to legitimately agree with his regime.
