Utopia On a cold wintery 10 degree fahrenheit day in December Blaize decided he was going to go on a cruise ship with his friends to the Bahamas where the weather has been 75-80 degrees fahrenheit. Blaize likes to spend lots of time outside. He likes to make fires, hunt, fish, snowboard, play soccer, and shoot sports. Blaize and his friends Seth, Matt, Leonard, and Cameron all enjoy many of the same things. We drove from Pennsylvania down to Miami Florida where the cruise ship was to boarded. Seth, Matt, Leonard, and Cameron have never been on a cruise ship before but Blaize has already been on two cruises before. So when everyone finally saw how big the ship was they were all speechless except for Blaize. After we got all our bags and found our room on the …show more content…
We were curious how many people could fit on the cruise so we asked one of the employees and he said “We are on the world's largest cruise ship and it could fit six thousand two hundred ninety six (6,296) people not counting employees and that Number is determined by how many lifeboats there are on the cruise”. The cruise was a week and a half long. It was to visit the Bahama islands and Cuba. On the third day out at sea we reached the Bahamas. (Cruise crash?) On our way to the Bahamas we went through some rough water and Seth and Cameron felt sick the whole time we were in the rough seas. When we docked at one of the Bahamas islands we had 10 hours before we had to be back on the cruise ship. The first thing we did was we went and relaxed on the beach. After 2 hours on the beach we went and rented jet skis. Unexpectedly a harsh storm coerced us farther and farther away from the island of which we rented the jet skis and our cruise was boarded. As time passed on we were so far away from the island or the island we thought we were once on where we rented the jet skis and our cruise ship was boarded looked like a little black dot when the storm ended. When the storm finally stopped we heading for
I´ve never been on a cruise out in the middle to the damp, dark, blue sea before. This was so exciting.
This past summer, my family and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas. We had just docked at the second port, Nassau, and were preparing to exit the gigantic ship named the Carnival Fantasy. Once we got to the city, I noticed it was bustling with people of all different backgrounds and cultures. The roads were narrow and some even hilly. I remember coming to the conclusion that a lot of people in the Bahamas must have road rage what from the blaring car horns I could hear around every corner. My family and I were walking along the sidewalk, glancing into shops as we passed them. The weather was unbearably hot, but growing up in South Carolina allowed my family and I to push onward with our adventure. The sun burn on my back started to pulsate in pain any time the sunlight hit it, so we decided to stick to the side of the buildings that provided shade.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
The world is full of people who have been on an incredible journey of some sort. It seems to be a burning desire in the adventurist’s heart to do something that they haven’t done before. There is an unexplainable satisfaction with completing the journey. The completion of an incredible journey may also cause an opposite effect. An individual may cross the finish with a hunger for more adventure or another mission. The journey can not only change one’s view of the world, but can help the adventurer to grow as a person as well. This can happen through inner or outer conflicts that a person has faced on their journey. I believe that my mission trip to Haiti was an incredible journey that left me with a thirst for more adventure and caused me to grow as a person.
That could only contain about 1,200 people. That was just over half of the 2,200 people on board. The text says,”Although there was room on deck for twice as many lifeboats, the Titanic carried lifeboats for just over half of the passengers and crew members on board. The designer of the Titanic had allowed room on deck for two rows of lifeboats, but the second row was removed before the voyage had begun to make the deck more aesthetically pleasing.” This evidence confirms that more lifeboats could have been held on the Titanic, and there would have been enough to hold all of the passengers. The number of casualties was a lot higher because a lot of people could not even get on lifeboats. If they did not remove the second row of lifeboats a lot more people would have
When we finally get to Florida, it’s over 100 degrees out! We go into our relatives’ living space (it’s either a condo or an apartment). We decide to have lunch at a local ...
It was a warm rainy June night the humidity was high which made it even harder to breathe on the crammed boat. My family was asleep on the constantly rocking boat suddenly the boat shook, but my family was still fast asleep. I couldn’t seem to fall asleep so I got up and stepped out on the cold wet steel boats upper deck to get some air. When I got outside I realized that it was pouring bucket sized rain. I saw increasingly large waves crash furiously against the lower deck. Hard water droplets pelted my face, I could taste the salt water in my mouth from the spray of the ocean. Suddenly A massive wave slammed hard against the ship and almost swallowed the boat. Wind gusts started kicking up. I held onto the rail grasping it as if it were my prized possession. Suddenly I was blown
Ask yourself “if I could take a trip ANYWHERE where would I go” well, I asked myself the same question where would I go? Here is my answer, I would go to the Bahamas because I think that I need to try something new. I think that if I went to the Bahamas then i would try everything because i am very deprived as in i don’t take advantage of the things i could be doing.
But the swell at high tide was way too big. We watched the drenched crew do a test run and ride the gauntlet through the rocky entrance of the harbour. The captain informed us that the island authorities had refused permission for us to disembark by zodiac until the sea subsided. A wet chief islander and customs officers came on board to stamp an albatross and a volcano in our passports. The post office staff came aboard to sell stamps, postcards and handcrafts to the waiting
A famous french philosopher named Michel Onfray said, “you cannot kill a breeze, a wind, a fragrance; you cannot kill a dream or an ambition”. The Lost City of Z conveys how ambition can change a person’s view towards the outside world by separating them from the world. Fawcett was on the journey to find the answer to the disappearance of the lost city. He tried his hardest, but suddenly disappeared in the Amazon. His ambition led to future Fawcett freaks.
The last four lifeboats collapsed for easier storage. Each of those could hold around forty-seven people. If all the lifeboats were filled to their maximum, they could hold one thousand one hundred and seventy-eight people. With two thousand two hundred and eight people aboard, there was only room for about 53% of total people on the Titanic to be put in a
We got into our lines, behind groups of excited families and happy little old men and women. As the line ascended up the ramp onto this enormous water vessel, pictures were taken of every group of passengers. Smile, laugh and look happy! Riiight. As a matter of fact, I was pretty anxious. I'd never been on a boat like this, and especially not for a whole week.
I actually forgot about my luggage and really did enjoy being there; it was beautiful; the water was so clear. The next day, the same thing happened in Nassau. The day I felt like moping around because of my missing luggage, was the Formal Gala Night. Since I had nothing formal to wear, the cruise people took my mom and me behind the hospitality desk to a room with more people working and a small selection of formal dresses. I genuinely don’t know where they acquired these dresses; I wondered if they were left behind by passengers or they belonged to the workers. The lady showed me the dresses and asked what size I was and she pulled out two dresses that could possibly fit – one aqua and one pink. I didn’t have much of a choice on which dress to wear: it was whichever dress fit better. The cruise ended and my chances of recovering my luggage
Within a day, the rest of the people on my boat started to feel better. By the time we reached the Park, everyone was in tip-top shape and excited to explore. There, at the Park, secluded from the rest of the world, we were able to grow together as a team and as individuals. I learned to rely on my gut as well as to invite criticism. Others learned to take Dramamine.
The moment I realized that this was my last year at home was when I was planning the annual family trip we take to Florida. We were all sitting around one another in the living room discussing what we would like to do during our trip this year. We always try to find something new to try while we are down there. I had always wanted to try parceling, but my parents weren’t so excited about that idea. Other ideas were thrown around as well.
