Julius Caesar, a brave warrior, loved by many, and hated by some. The common people love him, but the government and military leaders do not. Why might that be? A very important role in this play is a Roman Tribune. A Tribune is someone who protects the people and helps with enforcing and creating the law of the land and help oversee the government officials. The Tribune members are greatly revered and respected. No one dares interfere with their task at hand or they will suffer great consequences, even death.

They have the right and ability to forbid anything the senate suggests that affect the poor in a negative way. They help enforce the law and keep the people safe.

The Tribune played an integral part in overthrowing Julius Caesar. Casca, a tribune, helped Cassius get the insight he needed to kill Caesar. Cassius does not like Caesar. I think Cassius is jealous of Caesar, and wishes he had the power. In scene II we see that Caesar is suspicious of Cassius, but he did not do much about it. We also get hints from Cassius about not liking Caesar and wanting to do something about it.

In the play, Caesar killed Pompey. The people loved him for it and wanted him to be the king. Caesar’s colleagues were not as happy. I believe that the leaders that worked with Caesar liked Pompey, so when Caesar killed him it made them upset. “If Caesar were to become a tyrant then Casca, as well as the other conspirators, would lose what they most desired; power(123helpme.com).” A lot of this has to do with power. Everyone wants power and that's why several people ended up losing their lives. Caesar wanted power so he killed Pompey, Cassius wanted power so he killed Caesar.
