Arborists job is to help preserve natures beauty. An arborist Muir preserved a sequoia tree ,but the tree ended up to get infected with fungus. However, another arborists wanted to preserve Muir's tree by cloning the tree. They put in a capsule and calculate what will help the tree to be healthier. They gave the tree medicines to help grow faster ,but the process took a while. Cloning have worked before on other trees like Methuselah and bristlecone pine. Although no one ever succeed on making a clone of sequoia. In 2013 they saw improvement on the sequoia tree and they saved the link to Muir. The article "Tree Doctors" and the article in Dig Deeper both talks about the jobs of arborists ,but they're about different things. In the article, "Tree Doctors" it is mostly about what it takes to be an arborists. "Many arborists are "tree doctors." They analyze trees by measuring and examining their trunks, branches, and foliage. They look for indications of structural
In today’s society, many struggle to freely demonstrate their identity in fear of potential backlash and disapproval from others. While examining the two poems within this assignment, "sturgeon" as well as "the same as trees," I distinguished the overarching theme of identity crisis, and the inability for individuals to effectively express themselves. The first poem being analyzed is “the same as trees” by Nicola I. Campbell. As a member of the Métis community, Campbell’s life has not been simple. Often, people of Métis origin have difficulty navigating their European and Indigenous roots.
A good view the Truax had was that for every tree cut down, 5 more are planted. It is a fact that newer trees give off more air than older trees, so cutting down the older trees
...ow the tree “will churn down its dark boughs, smashing the house.” But the tree is so significant to their family that accepting the risk of injury is sensible.
"Selective cutting" is the practice by which trees are cut down according to certain ascertainable features. If a tree were so old and large that it inhibited the growth of other trees, then it would be a prime target for timber. Trees can hinder the growth of other trees by means of overbearing roots or overgrowth of branches that would not permit sunlight to reach smaller and less developed trees.(p17-18) "Clear cutting", however, takes an entirely different approach. Rather than a few trees that are undoubtedly ready to be timbered, all the trees in the area would simply be cut down. There would be no selection process involved and nothing would be left of the surrounding trees.(p18-19) The last process is called "sustained yeild". Murphy said, "…others might cut themselves out of existence, but his company would never lack timber ready to fell. It’s annual cut would always be limited and never exceed its timberland’s newgrowth."(p18)
“Giant Dreams, Midget Abilities,” by David Sedaris is a short story that depicts a brief period of Sedaris’s childhood life and his experience with music that was forced upon him by his father. Lou, Sedaris’s father, was a computer engineer by day, and a jazz aficionado by night. Sedaris, the narrator, has no interest in learning an instrument and would rather sing jingles. However his father has the brilliant idea to have each child learn an instrument and be able to start a trio so they can “go right through the roof,” (20). Sedaris is assigned guitar and reluctantly starts lessons to find out the person that his father has enlisted to achieve his “Giant Dreams” was a midget. “Giant Dreams, Midget Abilities” uses characterization coupled with hyperbole to illustrate the story’s theme of family and the “Father knows best” mentality.
“The Hollow Tree” is a memoir of a man by the name of Herb Nabigon who could not
Most qualified surgeons started off as litter bearer and would carry men off the battlefield. If any of them showed interest in the medical field, they could become a Steward. A Steward's job was to take care of patients with minor wounds such as, scratches, and bumps. The other duties of a Steward were to pull teeth and take care of medicines for the surgeons. The Steward would also guard the medicinal stores, because often soldiers would try to break into the medicinal stores where the morphine, opium, and whisky were stored. If a Steward completed these duties, then he might be allowed to assist a surgeon in an operation, which could lead to becoming an assistant surgeon. He could then later on become an experienced and qualified surgeon.

To what extent do the belief systems in The King of Trees act as a means of enforcing societal norms?
...en wrapped around a roller that was set in a wood or iron box securely fastened to the ground about twice the height of the tree away. A crank would then be turned rotating a wheel at the end of the roller until the tree bent to the ground with its roots pulled up. The tree feller left no roots in the ground and was quick. Another invention that was developed during the canal era was the stump puller. A chain was wrapped around a stump and then attached to a spool that was about fourteen feet across. A team of mules or oxen pulled a cable on the spool, the chain lost slack eventually pulling the stump. The stump puller was expensive, but was efficient and pulled forty stumps a day.

What is a pediatrician? Pediatricians are doctors who specialize and focus in caring for babies to young adults (Career Cruising). They deal with childhood diseases and the care of infants with health and sickness (Elberts). The typical upper age limit of patients is from age twelve to age twenty-one (NetMed Pediatrics). They have to treat their patients as if he or she were going to change the world. Pediatricians complete many tasks in a day’s time. They perform physical exams and order tests that will diagnose diseases and injuries that have occurred. They advise surgery and medications and may also help patients through puberty and family problems (Career Cruising). It is their responsibility to make sure the patients are not only healthy, but also safe and happy. Some pediatricians communicate with social workers, family members, and health care workers to understand the entire situation as best as they can (Career Cruising). If the patient seems to have more personal problems, pediatricians have the opportunity to send them to other doctors like a psychiatrist for treatment. Others work as advocates by educating the community about car safety and the benefits from school breakfast (Career Cruising).
A doctor is a surgeon or physician that tends to the medical needs of a person. A doctor is viewed as a smart and confident human being. This is an accurate assumption. A doctor is more than just this, he/she is a person who has devoted his/her life to studying the human body. "A doctor should be opaque to his patients and, like a mirror, should show them nothing but what is shown to him" Sigmund Freud.
Trees are great for many things. They are immensely useful for everyone. They give people so much for not a thing in return. One single tree can provide a huge amount of upside for the environment. They can provide a healthier environment, shade, comfortability, and a better environment for the people and the atmosphere. They provide great surroundings and they keep us shaded and comfortable. Not to mention, every piece of paper in the world is made out of one. Trees are extremely important and a huge part of our everyday life.
