Traumatic Effects of Adolescence and Divorce
Divorce is a very large subject in the united states. People in general are affected by divorce in various ways. Adolescents may have the most difficult time coping with their parents divorce and are affected in many ways. The adolescents that are affected by the divorce deal with it in different ways, not knowing if it will have a negative affect. Many of the one and a half million children in the United States whose parents are divorced feels as if they are falling apart. “When a child’s parents divorce the experience will always allow leaving a relationship to be a viable option various hanging and wrestling with working things out” as Dr. Fran Walfish psychotherapist and author of “The Self-Aware Parent.” Some children do not want to acknowledge when their parents are divorcing. Some don’t realize until they have to make that drastic change in their lives. The divorce of parents can be very traumatic for adolescents; ultimately leading to depression, feelings of incompleteness causing rebellious and erratic behaviors.

In the past, people really did not believe in divorce people found their soul mate so kids did not really have to witness the effects. But today, there are plenty of divorce all over the world and it has affected kids in all different ways and parent dont always see it. In the future, parents who will go through divorce should really pay attention to the changes that a child may go through. Keep a very close relationship with a child let them know that you are there for them and if the need help they will support
