The story “Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka depicts multiple transformations throughout the text, starting with an absurd, irrational incident. The main character Gregor is randomly transformed into a giant insect. Not only does Gregor go through an obvious physical transformation, but he also undergoes a psychological transformation as well. Gregor has to adapt to an entirely new life which takes a drastic toll on his well-being. Gregor can no longer do everyday things on his own. He cannot talk like a normal human anymore.
