going. Before Tony Hawk started skateboarding, he was a bit of a spaz who got frustrated with himself quite a bit.
After striking out in a baseball game, Tony was so mad at himself that he ran away and hid in a ravine and had to be coaxed out by his dad. His parents had a psychologist at Tony's school examine him. The results showed Tony Hawk was "gifted" and had a 12 year-old mind trapped in an eight year-old body. Tony started channeling his "gifted" abilities into skateboarding. Tony Hawk turned pro at the age of 14 and by 16 he was winning just about every skateboard contest he entered. Tony Hawk has challenges and problems. He failed many contests. It made him work even harder and made him more- determined to win. Because of all his daring tricks he broke his two front teeth, his finger, and his elbow. He needed to get better because all of the things he broke. When Tony got divorced he got set back from skateboarding because the divorce took a while to go through. Because of all these challenges and problems Tony Hawk couldn’t
skateboard. In life, as you strive to make things better, they often get harder. There are obstacles, frustrations, and at times the journey to success feels never ending. But there’s hope, you’re not alone in experiencing adversity while working toward your dreams. Everyone goes through it. Even my hero Tony Hawk felt at one point. “I won't quit skating until I am physically unable.” – Tony Hawk. Each failure teaches me an important lesson, and it means I’m stronger going forward. Tony Hawk has taught me that has really helped me changed my life have all come from dealing with failure. You don’t need to make your entire path a challenge. But at the very least, try to always have something going that stretches you. Something that makes you wonder if you’re actually going to be able to do it. The more you challenge yourself and succeed, the greater your confidence in your ability to do it again next time. Challenge doesn’t just help you grow your skills and knowledge; it helps you grow your belief that you can. Tony hawk taught me that no matter what always push yourself to do your best. It doesn’t matter how many time you fail always get back up and try harder.
His career started when he was very young, he won many awards and broke several records which ended with him changing the way many viewed the game all together. Wayne Gretzky began skating at a very early age. According to “Wayne Gretzky Biography,” “he learned to skate on the Ninth River near his grandfather's farm in Canning, Ontario, and at public rinks on weekends. But it was the rink his father built for him behind the little house on Varadi Avenue in Brantford that became known as the birthplace of his skating skills.” Gretzky was only six years old when he began his first year in organized hockey.
Tony did not want his younger brother to follow in his footstep but “Tony was now full-time in the streets, splitting his time between his father’s and girlfriend’s apartments in the Murphy Homes Project. He was a veteran of the drug game at eighteen”(The Other Wes Moore 57). Tony lived a life of crime when he became a drug dealer which earned money for him as a leaving. Though it did create a source of income for the struggling family, this was a very negative example for the young Other Wes to live by. As a result of not having any other people to help guide him to a successful path to living, Other Wes reverted to living by Tony’s destructive actions. Inevitably, Other Wes joined Tony on the streets selling various drugs as a career. His street life consumed his entire life so much he eventually dropped out of high school to concentrate on selling drugs. His illegal activities became so detrimental to his life that it resulted in prison on multiple occasions due to drug deals and firing a handgun. The role Tony had on Wes contributed towards the actions and downfall of Other Wes. His life could be the same, however, a different role model could have drastically changed his mindset and kept him off the streets which resulted in him living a destructive and
...fortunately, whether the program wasn’t strong, or by his flaws, it did not work for him and he ended up back in the drug game. His biggest mentor in life was Tony, who initially tried to steer him clear, ended up being with him during his downfall.
Tony learns that it is possible to gain this strength, which is vital in the process of
Robinson broke the color barrier, and the challenges, and his life helped him achieve his goal. Robinson finally broke the color barrier and made history in professional baseball forever. Jackie Robinson had some major challenges he had to overcome. Like players not wanting to play with him. Jackie had an amazing life and made a very big impact on the world. If it weren't for Robinsons motivation and challenges he overcame but he still achieved his goal as breaking the color

A hero carries the people on his shoulders" (Robinson 3). This is what made Jackie Robinson a hero to African-Americans. Robinson's achievement goes beyond the statistics and championships he earned on the field. He opened the door for his entire race to play professional sports and gain acceptance as more desegregation took place. After fighting in World War II from 1941 until 1944, Jackie played for the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues from 1944 until 1946.
So they started taking skating lessons at the local rink. They loved the ice. As time went by, they became skilled and learned moves. Later, they took private lessons with coach Derek James to learn more advanced moves. Michelle fell many times on the cold and hard ice.
After being mesmerized by figure skating at the age of eight, I became a member of the Markham Skating Club. As a competitive figure skater, I must perform various jumps and spins in a choreographed program. I have participated in numerous competitions in Central Ontario and have received multiple medals for my achievements. Yet, my achievement as a figure skater stem from the adversity that I faced throughout my skating journey. This sport has imposed challenges to both my mental and physical strength that have ultimately constructed the qualities of dedication and humility within myself.
In my opinion, I think Achilles is more of a better hero, because of how he goes across things. Achilles is the type of leader who people want to follow because he wants what is best for not just himself, but the people as well. A hero, from my perspective, is someone who looks out for his men. Someone who wants to make sure the only battles that need to be fought are fought. He looks out for the good in the people he is fighting
He was an inspiration to me, a truly versatile athlete who had changed the history of snowboarding. When I was eight my sister, who was a snowboarder, had tried to convince me to learn how to snowboard but I did not consider it once. She is about five years older than me and has much more experience in snowboarding as I had not yet learnt. Yet there I was about to change my life forever or so I thought. It took me about three years to learn the basics and add my own personal touch to my snowboarding. The one reason I continued to train was because of my sister. She meant so much to me and to this day still does. Those years I felt like she was all I had, until I realized everyone back at home was also cheering for me. She was the one who had offered to show me the magnificent art that we call snowboarding. She was the one who would aid me to victory and be at the finish waiting for me as I completed my final run. And at the time, she was the best snowboarder I had ever seen. I did not want to let my sister down so I pushed myself harder than I ever had just hoping that it will all pay
Heroes, crime fighting people that save the world from bad guys and super villains. Some heroes might be like that, but not my hero. This man was a normal person that rose to a opportunity that he saw and took it. He help many people with their hardships of being treated differently. My hero is Martin Luther King Jr, he had many great ideas that changed history forever. I think that he did it all out of love not popularity and he did so in a peaceful way, therefore I think he is a great hero.
I consider a hero someone that has done great things. There are different opinions in what a hero is but to me , being a hero is one who accomplishes hard goals, standing up for their own rights, doing things that are extraordinary. Muhammad Ali-Cassius Clay is someone that fills my standards of a hero. Muhammad Ali has accomplished hard goals by getting medals in the Olympics. Muhammad Ali had to stand up for his rights when he started to box. He has accomplished things in his life that would be very hard for me to accomplish. Muhammad Ali has done things that I think are very magnificent. The thing Muhammad Ali has done makes him a hero to me.
Anthony (Tony) Stark was original a fiction character from a comic that was created by Stan Lee in 1963 but since then has many movies and books made about him. Tony is sassy, brilliant, forgetful, rich, rude, player that eventually becomes a philanthropist. Even from the young age of 6, Tony quickly stole the spotlight with his bright, amazing, and unique mind. At the age of 21, his parents were killed in a car accident in 1991. In that same year, Tony became the new CEO of a weapon company called Stark Industries, a company that his father had started and he ushered in a new era for his father's legacy. He changed the face of the weapons industry by making satellite targeting, smarter weapons, and also more advanced robots. His weapons weren't always used for the greater good; for example, during one of his trips to the Middle East to show off his latest weapon, the Jericho, to the American army, he was abducted by the terrorist group, Ten Rings. During capture, he was hit with one of his own weapons causing many shards of shrapnel to enter his body slowing getting closer and closer to his heart. Yinsen, a captured doctor, took care of Tony but in return, the Ten Rings tried to make Tony build the Jericho. But instead of making it, he made a battle suit that he then used the suit to escape from the terrorists' base; sadly, Yinsen was killed during the outbreak. In raged with the death of his friend, Tony burns down all of the Ten Rings weapons and attempts to fly away, but he ends up failing and crash landing in the desert where he was then rescued by the military.
When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. When asked who my hero is I would have to respond with a simple three letter word: mom. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today.
