“How did Societies change from the end of the ancient period to the beginning of the modern age?” Societies have changed dramatically since the end of the end of the ancient period to the beginning of the modern age. For example, trade, population, food, water, rules, war, crime and punishment, laws and beliefs. The transformation from the ancient world to the modern age has effected all of the factors above which are all linked with each other that helped with the evolution of the ancient period to the modern age. Trade was an important factor in the evolution of the ancient world to the modern age as it provided new jobs for the growing population. Because the population rapidly increased so did the need for food and water so in this case societies needed to trade more because of the increased need for food. Trading was also a way for people to make money, but also put value on items which may have led to crime and punishment. As the population increased so did the need for everything else as the population grew so did the amount of food and water, more land and more rules and laws, this lead to the establishment of the social pyramid. As the population grew the more important the social pyramids and ruling systems became. An example of how important the ruling system was is ancient Egypt, where the slaves and peasants would work for the Pharaohs which is why we have some amazing structures for example the pyramids and sphinx today. As the society's population grew it would provide that civilization with more soldiers giving them a better chance at war.
