Therapeutic Nursing Services

My Program of study:

For my career choice, I would go into the study of therapeutic nursing services and be a registered nurse (RN). An RN’s job description includes the following: providing care, support, diagnosing illnesses, and educating patients about their diagnosis. Other daily tasks for a Registered Nurse would be to administer shots, provide treatments, and monitor the patient’s during recovery. The assigned physician would also need assistance.


Under the program of the therapeutic nursing services, the position that I’m interested in would be a registered nurse, or RN. Although more education is required, there is also the benefit of higher pay. I would like to get my doctoral …show more content…

For my internship, I could work at a local hospital like Blount Memorial Hospital during my education in therapeutic nursing services. The classes I will take: medical therapeutics, health science education, human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, nursing education and clinical internship.

For a local technical school I would attend Tennessee Tech University (TTU) located in Cookeville,Tennessee.

And for community college, I would go to Pellissippi State Community College for two years located in Knoxville,Tennessee.

For any post-graduate education, I would attend the University of Tennessee (UTK) located in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Employment:

Where nursing is concerned, there will always be needs or opportunities for a job. It seems like there are never enough nurses out there, because there is always a need for them. Maximum staffing is needed because there are so many sick people that you will need to care for everyday. There are about 439,300 jobs available.

The average salary for a Registered Nurse is about
$66,640 a year. This was as of June, 2015. The salary will improve if you get your doctorate degree or work at a high-end
