Growing up roosevelt had to overcome many obstacle and health problems to achieve such heights such as becoming the 26th president. Roosevelt was born October 27, 1858 in New York. Roosevelt was born with rehabilitating asthma that largely affected his childhood growing up. Roosevelt had sudden nightmare asthma attacks that would make it feel like he was suffocating to death. The doctors had no cure for this and it terrified roosevelt and his parents. As a child roosevelt was fascinated with animals at an early age that was started when he saw a dead seal when he was visiting the local market when he was seven. Roosevelt learned the basics of taxidermy so he could be the dead animals on display for all to see. At about age 9 Theodore studied insects and wrote a length full paper titled “The Natural History Of Insects”. While growing up theodores father and mother greatly influenced his childhood, His father had a very high class job working with new york's cultural affairs. Roosevelt thought that his father was “The best man I ever new”. When growing up Roosevelt went on many family trips such as when they went to europe and egypt. Roosevelt learned when hiking in the alps he could keep up with his father and also realized that physical activity helped reduces his asthma and bolstered his spirits. In 1882 Roosevelt published his book on the war of 1812 and became very famed for it. Roosevelt was put forth from 1882-84 as the republicans party for the district's house seat in Albany. He began making a mark immediately and mostly worked at bring down corrupt businesses. Roosevelt blocked a corrupt effort by a financier to lower his taxes and also exposed a judge and almost got the judge impeached. Pretty soon roosevelt attained a high and positive political statues in many new york publications. For w while theodore became a rancher in north dakota and learned to ride western style, rope and hunt. He earned the respect of the locals, but there weren't entirely impressed. He had 2 ranches and after a while he became deputy sheriff and tracked down criminals and one time he hunted down a gang and imprisoned them and stayed up for 48 hours without sleep while he guarded them before trial and didn't hang them. At one point during his adventures when he was tracking down horse thieves he ran into seth bullock a famous deadwood sheriff and they became good friends.
