There are many themes or words I could use to describe restorative justice. The one that stood out to me the most was found in The Little Book of Restorative Justice by Howard Zehr (10), “restorative justice is a compass not a map”. I remember reading this and talking about it in class one day and it has always made me think. As first I didn’t know what RJ was or how it worked but throughout the semester we talked and learning about each way you could use it. After going through how circles, victim-offender mediation, panels, and conferences worked, I noticed every person would be different on which one they would want to do and why.
