“A Good Man is Hard to Find” is a 1953 short story by Flannery O 'Connor. There are a lot of literal techniques that the author uses in order to make sure that the story has the desired effect on the audience, but realism and cultural adaptation standout from the lot. O’Connor heavily relies on information from his own cultural setting to forge out characters and the plot of the story, which increases the purpose and relevance of “A Good Man is Hard to Find.” Among the social issues that the story captures so well is multicultural diversity. This is because globalization is upon us and people are being forced to embrace diversity or suffer the consequences of diminished capacity and exclusion (Diller 55). The two themes in “A Good Man Is Hard to Find” perfectly map the responsibility of all stakeholders in order to create a favorable multicultural social order. Personally, I think that there are some internal and external responsibilities that I bear towards these phenomena. This includes understanding that I am surrounded by a multicultural society. This is followed by a reaction towards the issue by transforming my manner of communication and my perception of others. In short, my responsibility is to exercise a good level of flexibility in order to accommodate people from other cultural realms.
