The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, is a video game that Nintendo released for the Wii console on November 20, 2011. The retail price of the game at $45.95. The game also had a limited edition golden Wiimote controller and a soundtrack bundle which retailed for $69.99. Some say that this game surpasses the other games, but why? This report will explain some of the feature that Skyward Sword has.
The story of Skywards Sword starts with a war that starts when the monsters escaped the ‘fissure’ so they can get the ‘ultimate power’ that is protected by the Goddess. Considering the humans living there couldn’t fight against the monsters, the Goddess Hylia saved them. The Goddess used the sacred items, the Goddess Harp and the Goddess Sword to send the remaining humans and a chunk of land above the sky. While the remaining humans where safe, Hylia and other creatures defeated the monsters, and peace returned to the land.
Since Hylia was weak, she was reborn as a mortal over and over, along with the Hero of the Sky, this lead to our hero, Link. Link is tasked with finding Zelda, completing the Song of Hero, surviving through the countless dungeons and defeating Demise, the demon King.
While the story runs in the background, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword’s gameplay uses the Wiimote Plus, which is include inside or as an add-on, and the Nunchuck. Joseph Campbell stated, “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” The hero of the movie, Mulan, clearly gives up her life while going through the stages of completing the hero’s journey. The hero’s journey of Mulan is divided into three concrete stages: the departure, the initiation, and the return. Mulan is a classic mono-myth.

It’s not about the items; it’s about what they are used for and what they are worth. The novel The things they carried was written by the author Tim O’ Brien. The main characters that are presented in the novel are Jimmy Cross, O’Brien, Rat Kiley, Henry Dubbins, and Norman Bowker. The novel provides insight to the reader that the point of view is by the author himself. He is the one who narrates most of the stories. Tim O’ Brien makes up stories to cover up the truth and to makes people in it seem more human. Advertisements use celebrities and Disney characters to give young girls the idea of being able to imitate their lifestyle. By buying the merchandise of these princesses young girls are buying this mentality and promoting the message. Playboy bunny and Disney princesses are different yet similar in the way that they exploit female bodies. For instance, in the film Mulan her mother and aunts state, “good breeding and a tiny waist will bring honor to them all,” as in her family name (“Disney and Sexism – You-Tube”). This implies that having a tiny waist is more attractive than a usual figure. This leads young girls to believe that the only way their body would be appreciated is if they have the same frame as Mulan. Mulan’s figure seemed average and the females in her family who were helping her get dressed in order to be presentable they used a fabric ribbon lace material to tighten her waist. This extremely emphasized in the movie giving the message that the only way your family will accept you is if you are thin. This Disney princess is over-sexualized because she uses her appearance to attain luxuries. Her family wants her to go on a date against her will in order to marry a man who she does not love. She struggles with her inner self. The producers show that even when a woman is strong she must please others.
... find out that he is special and that he was and could be a God again. Because of all of this, Hercules provides himself with an opportunity to become someone and even a God. This also provides him with the confidence that would be needed for him to become a hero. He then gets involved in his training to become a hero. Hercules then begins saving people and continues to fit the ‘hero’ role that he put himself into. He gets many things that he would never have gotten in the past like action dolls, signatures, merchandise, etc. Because of this he believes in the hero that he has become and feels an obligation to stay a hero to protect citizens and to impress Zeus. Hercules also continues to do only good deeds (like saving people and killing monsters). But these good deeds are defined by our modern mores and folkways, specifically ones set in the United States.
Beowulf looked over on the wall next to them and saw a magnificent sword hanging on the wall adorned with beautiful carvings, it was blessed with magic. No normal man could ever have lifted that sword, but Beowulf was no normal being. He waited for the right moment to go and retrieve the sword, and when he found the perfect opportunity and he ran straight towards the wall. He pulled the sword down with great force and began running towards Grendel’s mother. Beowulf took in a deep breath as he leaned back and heaved the sword forward. Beowulf had sliced straight through Grendel’s mother’s scaly neck, blood began to pour everywhere and he heard her bones cracking as the sword passed through her.
