The World Consensus GameTM
The World Consensus GameTM allows anyone to contribute to the creation of a world consensus on issues that divide people. Participants can look up positions that have been taken on topics that people disagree on and can contribute to the discussion of these topics. Participation is easy to do. Once you identify a question that interests you, a map is provided that shows the positions that have been taken on that question along with definitions of positions. You can examine arguments that have been provided for a position, including the argument judged best by philosophers and the argument favored by the general public, and you can express your judgment on positions and arguments. Finally, you can contribute new positions, new arguments, and criticisms of

World Consensus GameTM and the Teaching of Philosophy
Everyone has a viewpoint. Our viewpoints determine in part our actions. To change our actions and those of others we need to examine viewpoints. The study of philosophy helps people learn more about their own viewpoints and also about how other people view the world.
Philosophy is the viewing of viewpoints. It is thinking about our thinking, not thinking for the sake of thinking, but thinking that helps us do a better job of making the decisions that all of us make. One assumption is that we can make better decisions if we make them consciously, rather than unconsciously. If we know what we are doing, then we can do it better. By making our thought processes explicit, we can examine the thinking behind our decisions.
The divisions of philosophy correspond to the issues that are discussed. Views on what makes actions right or wrong are included in Moral Philosophy. Views on political systems are in Political Philosophy, and so on. A more dignified name for viewpoints that have been elaborated by philosophers is philosophical
The three topics I picked are gender, race, and religion. However, my views on these subjects have not changed because I considered myself to be a very open-minded person. After reading "The Berdache Tradition" I learned that the several Native American tribes had a different kind of cultural construction of gender within their group. I was very fond of their origin myth that was about several worlds and crossing over them to find equal ground for everyone. I found this reading to be very interesting because it seems that no one takes the chance to mention the subject of having more than one gender. Usually people are focused on physical differences of sex and the expectations that are associated with gender. The same goes for the group in
The efforts taking place through different conservation organizations and the State of Florida are making a mixed impact on the survival of Manatees and Sea Turtles. The decline in manatee population has decreased, but due to low reproduction rates, more needs to be done to avoid extinction. The sea turtle outlook is more species specific. Some species of turtle are seeing stabilization in population, while others are not. The State of Florida has a large array of custom license tags that support the conservation efforts taking place within the State. The proceeds go to benefit the local marine life in Florida. With financial resources, state and local cooperation, and through constant research and observation, we are able to learn more about both of these gentle animals. With human awareness of those living in Florida, these two animals will survive
The thesis, or the main idea of the book, is that by using specific communication techniques, we can turn difficult discussions into productive learning conversations.

The green sea turtles have been taken out of the Atlantic Ocean for several years, so now they are an endangered species. Today, the green sea turtles population is growing and in the Florida Refuge they counted up to over 12,000 turtle nests. It is shocking to see how much the refuges care about the green sea turtles. They have been looking out for the turtles for 35 years. It was interesting to find out that these green sea turtles live for a really long time. It takes the turtles 25 years just to mature. This article caught my eye because I love science and animals. Knowing that people are taking care of what used to be endangered animals really means a lot to me. I hate seeing animals hurt or struggling to survive. Because of the refuges
The Chelonia mydas, also known as the Hawaiian green sea turtle, or as Honu here in Hawaii, have roamed the oceans for millions of years. Forty years ago this beautiful species was almost completely removed from this earth, but was saved by the U.S. endangered species act of 1973. These magnificent creatures can now be found in abundance in the coastal strand and open ocean biomes of the North shore in Oahu, Hawaii. The green sea turtles occupy different habitats such as; beaches for nesting, open ocean convergence zones and coastal areas for benthic feeding. Unlike other sea turtles, the Honu don’t only use the beaches for nesting, they use them for thermoregulation in the sun. These green sea turtles have behaviors and characteristics
Each individual in any given group may has common good or group goal, also has conflicting interests, as known as Collective Action Dilemmas. It has been recognized long time that individuals often fail to achieved the group goal when work together, one main reason is people are rational. In the state of nation and society, public interests may conflict personal interest, the government as central agent seen as a great mean to solve the problem. For example, all the modern citizens expect great benefits governments provide, such as a highway system, or free elementary education; but for the tax, didn’t see anyone paid with happiness, but always think been over paid.
All four species of sea turtles recorded to nest in Malaysia fall in either the endangered (EN) or critically endangered (CR) categories according to IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2013). Generally, nesting trends of sea turtles in Malaysia have been decreasing. The nesting trend of green and hawksbill species have not significantly increase but it can say to be stabilized throughout the years. Moreover, olive ridleys and leatherback species are listed critical...
Feedback influences the amount of time the group members spend discussing the topic and could be used to dispute flows. The experiment was conducted and presented to a dozens of individuals in large electronic rooms with the "Lost in the Desert" survival scenario. Participant were given a list of fifteen objects where they must select five that would help them survive. After the picked their items were instructed to enter an assigned chat room and discus the possible choices, they had no obligation choose the same item as other groups. The discussing ensued with no one knowing whose group they are in. This created disconnect to all for a more analytical process. The results indicated that positive feedback results more in the production blocking and less effective decision-making. Negative feedback increases the amount of time spent on group discussion. Evidence suggests that groups whom receive negative feedback during decision-making process engage in more argumentation, likely an effort to support their own argument in the face of criticism. The use of devil 's advocacy by a group requires more discussion to reach agreement than is normally needed. In comparison, groups who receive positive feedback will likely require less time to reach consensus by virtue of not requiring the same amount of argumentation. (Marler & Marett, 2013).
Paradigms are models of how ideas relate to one another. (Pollack, 2015). It's a function of how the human mind works. The consensus paradigm views how individuals agree on important goals for survival. Conflict paradigm sees society as being made of competing conflicting interests. Society is at odds with one another and hose with power rule it. In the issues of medical marijuana consensus paradigm would rule that marijuana is illegal and that there are other medical alternatives to use while conflict paradigm recognizes that there are some medical benefits to marijuana use and that it helps some. If money can be made off of it's legalization it will be legalized. Stem cell research although controversial can be useful in the future of medicine

Discussion leaders get participants thinking, listening, responding to questions and answers from others in their discussion groups. He challenges them when their statements are unclear, inaccurate, or will cause a contradiction.
Sometimes, people may come up with thoughts that look little bit crazy. By putting one thought on the desk will spark others to bring up with different thoughts, either positively or negatively. Sometimes, the attendees who think negatively or opposing on everything will bring strong values. All the thoughts have to be welcomed to avoid ego among the attendees. Onc...
Fifty-one countries established the United Nations also known as the UN on October 24, 1945 with the intentions of preserving peace through international cooperation and collective security. Over the years the UN has grown in numbers to include 185 countries, thus making the organization and its family of agencies the largest in an effort to promote world stability. Since 1954 the UN and its organizations have received the Nobel Peace Prize on 5 separate occasions. The first in 1954 awarded to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Geneva, for its assistance to refugees, and finally in 1988 to the United Nations Peace-keeping Forces, for its peace-keeping operations. As you can see, the United Nations efforts have not gone without notice.
I have also learned the importance of sacrifices because we will not be able to achieve the goal or push through with the event without it that is why maybe we lack on inserting considerations to make the conference work as possible. I have learned that studying the core principles of international relations theory is important because in our world today, we have problems on collective goods and one way to solve them is to apply the approaches of the three principles. When individuals (states) utilize common resources for his or her own gain with no regard to the collective group, collectivity suffers and eventually, everyone suffers if there is no regulation. Collective goods are available to everyone regardless of contribution. "In general, collective goods are easier to provide in small groups than in large ones. In a small group, the defection (free riding) of one member is harder to conceal, has a greater impact on the overall collective good, and is easier to punish. The advantage of small groups helps explain the importance of the great-power system in international security affairs and of the G7 (Group of Seven) industrialized countries in economic matters." Smaller groups that share collective goods are more likely to utilize resources more responsibly and efficiently than a
