"Discard the Vitamins and Eat More Fruit and Vegetables," which was made by Morley. Although, this doc. was biased to one side I was still able to find evidence for my side on this. Now in this doc. they talked about how they were researching people as said in this quote, "A recent study followed women from Iowa who were between 55 to 69 for 22 years." In this quote they said they followed women from 55-69 for 22 years that took vitamins but, the thing is that they watched them for 22 years they will start dieing due to other circumstances other than multivitamin. They also say that in this doc. we should be eating foods instead of vitamins as said from, "These studies suggest we waste a large amount of money on vitamins and other supplements…" But, my question to that is what about people who have allergies they need to get vitamins somewhere and if they can't get them from the foods they should get it from vitamins or, even better, multivitamins which can help on multiple levels of
A study carried out by Telang (2013)(14) showed that 10 % of vitamin C applied topically decrease UVB induced erythema by 52% and sunburn cell formation by 40-60%. There are other herbs that need to be taken internally to heal acne. Such herbs are Echinacea, oregano and basil. For the apt dosage of the herb, it is better to consult the labels of each supplement given to you before you use it. the best part of all these herbs is that these can also be applied to the skin to enhance the healing results. Echinacea can be applied as it is on the skin, but bas...
What would you give to rid yourself of acne? What would you do? The bane of every adolescent’s existence, these red spots develop to some degree in 85% of the population between ages 12 and 25 (Lamberg). Teenagers wake up every morning, look at the mirror, and sigh at the acne on their faces and often other places on their bodies. They dread these awful things that are absolutely ugly. They get desperate and eventually, if the acne grows worse than ever before, they resort to Accutane. Accutane, also known as isotretinoin, is a medication for acne. However, despite isotretinoin’s helpfulness in controlling acne that is unresponsive to other treatments, this medication should not be used because of its harmful physical side effects, its association with psychiatric adverse effects, and its effects on reproduction.
Vitamin A helps a lot in the maintenance of a healthy skin, mucus membrane, teeth and other soft tissues of the body.
In their study, 40 patients were administered oral isotretinoin and were followed throughout their five month treatment. Prior to beginning treatment, comedogenic and inflammatory lesions were counted and recorded as baseline. At one, two and five months the acne lesions were recounted. By month one there was a 50% decrease of inflammatory lesions, and at the end of month two, there was a 50% decrease in comedones. Total improvement of inflammatory lesions was 86.12% at the end of treatment. 39.74% of the treatment group experienced excellent results, which is considered 80-100% resolution of total lesions. 55.27% of patients experienced good results, which is resolution of 50-79% of total lesions. With 95% of the treatment group experiencing good to excellent results, the researchers were able to prove statistically that these results are significant. While all of the patients saw improvement in their acne vulgaris, some did experience side effects. The most commonly reported adverse effects were scaling of the face (11%) and chelitis (5%). Other side effects experienced in this study include dryness, palmo-plantar peeling, and photosensitivity. Systemic side effects experienced by 5% of the patients were nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain. None of the patients experiencing side effects required discontinuation of the medication and effects were treated
There are three categories that acne falls under: comedonal acne, inflammatory acne, and nodular cystic acne. All these different acnes required different treatments. First, comedonal acne is caused by the human body skin cells going through a process of shedding inside the hair follicles, but when the cells shed at a high rate, they combine with sebum and cause the pore to clog the follicle. Common treatments prescribed are topical agents such as salicyclic acid. There is no transmission mode for Comedonal acne, it is not contagious; therefore, cannot be transmitted to another human. Second, inflammatory acne is caused by bacterial infections, which is a form of anaerobic diphtheroid that is commonly found on the skin. Neutrophils that secrete enzymes that damage the wall of the hair follicle are attracted to the site, which results in the inflammation appearance of pustules and papules (Tortora, G. J., &Funke, B. R. (2013). Antibiotic treatment is most common for this acne as well as benzoyl peroxide against some forms, such as propionibacterium acne. Nursing interventions for this particular acne would be focused more on self-esteem issues for the patient as this acne is commonly found on the face. Another nursing intervention would be to educate the patient with different ways to cleanse the affected area, and if allowed, maybe show them how to use a concealer. Third,
Having to list what I eat each day, see the calories consumed and then see the lack of nutrients that were contained therein was not only eye opening but a total shock. I would have predicted that I was eating well enough to provide all my essential nutrient needs. However, I was very mistaken. I think this was my biggest shock of the semester. Because I love vegetables, I thought that it would make up for the fact that I don’t particularly care for fruits. However, by tracking what I eat and analyzing the nutrient values, I see where I am not getting some of the important vitamins that I need. Although, it has been subtle, I am making some changes in my diet, however, the awareness is keenly there. On a spiritual note it really emphasizes the truthfulness of the Word of

The hormonal changes occurring in the commencement of puberty are responsible for teenage acne to breakout during the teen years. These hormones encourage the sebaceous glands or the oil glands to produce more oil, which creates oily skin that is more prone to pore blockages and acne breakouts. Studies show that stress and diet are also main acne triggers during the teen years.
Specialists are unable to detect the exact cause of acne, but there are many risk factors that have been identified with the contribution of developing acne. Diet does not cause acne, but certain foods can cause flare-ups. However, eliminating certain foods, particularly chocolates and fats, appear to improve some cases of acne. Teenagers are more likely to develop acne, due to hormonal changes they experience. Boys tend to develop more severe acne than girls, as well as more often.
