What is emotional intelligence? Why does it matter? Emotional intelligence is the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. People everywhere use emotional intelligence to help build relationships and talk to others. It matters because it affects our daily life. The overall theme of emotional intelligence is to have an understanding of how to handle interpersonal relationships. The three ways to do that is to express one’s emotions, be in control and/or aware of your emotions and how to handle relationships empathetically.

Sometimes understanding and sharing feelings is hard. I mean come on…It’s
how you feel. You want to say everything all at once. You can’t always do that. If the person has something to share with you or is feeling a certain way, approach them in a calm manner.
Questions to ask might be, “Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?” Now if the person says no then don’t pressure them. At some point they might talk to you but you need to understand not everything is easy to talk about. Take your time in trying to understand don’t rush it, if you do that then this whole entire lesson will be pointless and that means you will have not read it.
Sharing feelings and understanding them even if it doesn’t make sense to you is a good quality. It helps build relationships and strengthens your emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence is a very good skill to have and have addressed over time through speaking. It has a lot to do with the interpersonal relationships that we human beings have. The overall argument of Emotional intelligence is to be able to assess yourself and how you feel with others and have them be able to do it back. Like I said the best way to deal with emotional intelligence is to express, be in control and share your
Due to that, some people have been told so many things and then that person did the opposite of what they just said. It is important to remember that actions can speak louder than words can and that actions can mean more to people than words can. Actions can really show people that you care about, how much you care about then and how much they mean to you, without having to use words to tell them what you really feel for them. Especially if the action that is being done to show what the person is feeling at the exact moment that you have the

What is emotional intelligence? Paul Hong author of “Emotional intelligence Goleman’s four competencies” says that emotional intelligence can be described as the ability to recognize and manage your own and others’ emotions, including the capacity to self motivate and handle interpersonal relationships. The novel Brave New World took out the main component in a human set up so there is no way to create a special bond with other humans.
is to talk to them about it. It is not uncommon for them to get mad at first
Emotional Intelligence, also known as ‘EI’, is defined as the ability to recognize, authoritize and evaluate emotions. The ability to control and express our own emotions is very important but so is our ability to understand, interpret and respond to the emotions of others. To be emotionally intelligent one must be able to perceive emotions, reason with emotions, understand emotions and manage emotions.
(Yoder-Wise, 2015, p. 7). Emotional intelligence involves managing the emotions of others while owning personal emotions. According to Skholer, “Researchers define emotional intelligence (EI) as the ability to recognize/monitor one’s own and other people’s emotions, to differentiate between different feelings, and to use emotional information to guide thinking, behavior, and performance.” (Skholer & Tziner, 2017).

The scope of emotional intelligence includes the verbal and nonverbal appraisal and expression of emotion, the regulation of emotion in the self and others, and the utilization of emotional content in problem solving. (pp. 433)
Emotional intelligence is basically the capability to distinguish, control and judge the emotions. According to the research, emotional intelligence can be learned and it can be enhanced but on other side it is claimed that emotional intelligence is inborn feature (Cherry, 2014).
Emotional Intelligence is this ability for yourself to recognize and understand emotions for yourself and those around you. This ability helps you manage your behavior and relationships to get a better perspective for others. We citizens all have emotions, we use it all the time. It affects how we manage behavior, navigate social skills, and makes personal decisions that achieve great positive results. Of course we need to dig into the bottom of how it works, this ability is made up of four core skills that are made up with two primary sources: personal competence and social competence. How these two work is simple, personal competence is basically made up for your self-awareness and self-management skills (self-awareness is your ability to
Emotions play a significant part in our daily lives, especially to our overall wellbeing whenever we share these experiences with other people. The ability to express and interpret emotions is an important skill that everyone can improve on that would greatly benefit their interpersonal communication. Our expressions accompany our emotions; they serve as windows that allow other people to know what we are feeling inside. There are several factors that influence how we communicate our feelings.
An individual’s ability to control and express their emotions is just as important as his/her ability to respond, understand, and interpret the emotions of others. The ability to do both of these things is emotional intelligence, which, it has been argued, is just as important if not more important than IQ (Cassady & Eissa, 2011). Emotional intelligence refers to one’s ability to perceive emotions, control them, and evaluate them. While some psychologists argue that it is innate, others claim that it is possible to learn and strengthen it. Academically, it has been referred to as social intelligence sub-set. This involves an individual’s ability to monitor their emotions and feelings, as well as those of others, and to differentiate them in a manner that allows the individuals to integrate them in their actions and thoughts (Cassady & Eissa, 2011).
Emotional intelligence is important to your career because EI can lead to success and help develop those who are productive in their work. They are able to work in teams and are flexible to changes. It can also help express and understand feelings of each other.
