The movie is about a man who is condemned to serve two life-terms, for a crime that he claimed to have not committed in connection with the killing of his wife and her lover after he had caught them in action. But the judge was quite satisfied with the arguments presented in the court and condemned an “innocent man”, Mr. Dufrense. But the convicted person pleaded for his innocence. The only reason for his condemnation was that the woman who was killed happened to be the condemned person’s wife and the other man was the secret lover of his wife. So, he was sentenced to serve two life sentences, in a maximum-security prison. Even though Mr. Dufrense was innocent, he dully began serving his prison sentence. It is the same hope that made Red go to Mexico to meet his friend, Mr. Dufrense. This movie even though somber at first, but after Mr. Dufrense was sentenced to serve two life terms for the supposed double murders, he served a prison sentence of 26 years. This movie is one that is clouded by a lot of feelings of jealousy. This can be seen by the fact that Mr. Dufrense was charged with a murder that he did not commit himself or involved in or participated in. In addition, the killer who had killed the woman as a collateral as he planned revenged against the pro golfer thus putting an innocent man behind bars. The warden, upon realizing that Mr. Dufrense was innocent, instead of trying to reopen Mr. Dufrense’s case, decides to kill the only witness who could set Mr. Dufrense free. This was propelled by the greed he had as Mr. Dufrense was supplying money to the warden. People in our daily lives constantly tend to harbor their jealousies over justice. This can be seen when wars are waged between countries and regions, and many of them are fueled by jealousy as well as greed.
