The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

It is very rare for me to watch a movie twice. I can count the movies I have seen twice on one hand. The Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies. You just have to see it at least once in your life. It finds its place completely at the top of the movie industry next to Pulp Fiction, Fight Club or even The Godfather.

The story is about two men who slowly bonded in prison over the years. The prison called Shawshank is a perfect representation of a hell on earth. The food is bad, the walls are made out of big cold bricks and it feels like there is no escape from it. They are both sentenced for life and that is exactly what Shawshank took from them.
The two main actors of the movie are Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne and Morgan Freeman as Red who both delivered an incredible performance. Tim Robbins stays in his comfort zone of sad …show more content…

You only see a couple of suits and dirty old prison clothing. It shows the separation and the contrast of power very well. The prison guard has a perfectly clean and fitting uniform. Their shoes are perfectly clean and shiny. The prisoner is dirty, their shoes are worn out and you can see the leather pealing of the bottom of the shoe. Their clothes usually don’t even fit well.
The location is perfect. Shawshank is a dark prison that slowly eats you up inside. The place is huge and packed with horrible people you hope you would never meet in your life. It is very hard to find a good man in there who isn’t eaten up by the hate of the prison. You can feel the cold of the thick brick walls that keeps everyone in their cells. The story is basically people looking for redemption in Shawshank. The soundtrack is very emotional. Often a slow violin accompanied with a piano pops up to make your emotions stronger. Andy has a good hart and you know it. Yet so much bad happens to him and you want it to stop. This music slowly comes up in the background and makes you think about
