This story takes place at a camp in River Heights. Her friend, Helen Corning, invited Nancy Drew to this camp. When Nancy goes she finds herself caught in a few situations that can affect her life.

She always has a good attitude. Nancy always sees the situation as an opportunity to learn from her mistakes. The author has put Nancy in a position where she has to find out what to do next. She always tries to make people happy, even when the times are tough.

Nancy Drew is involved in a mystery of a missing will from a man named Josiah Crowley. He had lived with his relatives, the Tophams, while he was ill. He then died and left all his money to the Tophams, who are very cruel people. Nancy now has heard that there is a second will that leaves money to all his family members. As Nancy is trying to find the will, she is thrown a couple of curve balls. She is thrown in a closet with no way out, and she is told just to give up. She never gave up because she knows that all things are possible.

The main idea of this book is to encourage people never to give up even if others say otherwise. Nancy has exhibited this "never give up" attitude on many occasions. When Nancy is told to just quit the case and forget about it, she kept going and so should we. Also, when Nancy was told that she could never be better than her father it made her more determined.
