Moving to different states I believe that restaurants can tell a lot about the area and what it stands for. The Sandwich Club didn’t really give me that Southern hospitality or Myrtle Beach excitement I was looking for. The only memorable impressions that stuck with me was does the cafe answer my three important questions, is the interior decoration appealing, and is the food appetizing?
When discovering different restaurants I always look for three important factors. Is the restaurant near my location, what are the hours, and is the food affordable? The Sandwich Club answers those three questions with pros and cons. It is located on highway 501, right in the middle of Food Lion and the comic book store. When I think of a cafe I would normally expect somewhat of a modern day decor with wooden and leather-like furniture accompanied with cozy little booths scattered around. But in this situation that wasn’t the case. Basically, this would be a place to bring some friends and not have to worry about appearance. Now if you’re wanting to have a romantic date night with your partner, this is not the place for you. The inside came across as a 90’s fast food restaurant with a hint of confusion. Everything from the ceiling to the floor was covered in a shade of pasty white, which was not appealing whatsoever. The furniture looked like actual fast food dining tables and seats; plastic monotone colour seats connected with a cheaply designed wooden table. On the edges of the tables were bulky red lines with chairs that had a dull green complexion. Now the confusion for me was a random wooden bookcase near the entrance. When looking upon the bookcase it had a large range of novels that included fantasy, nonfiction, and fiction. Not one book had anything to do with cooking, or the restaurant. To me, it seemed like it was last minute decoration that wasn’t properly decided on, so it just left there hoping to fit with the rest of the
