In today’s world Human Resources professionals are taking many roles out of the original job descriptions they once had. In the beginning their job descriptions consisted of a much more traditional role, working with upper management to keep systems organized and perform administrative duties. These duties have changed and are becoming more intricate on a daily scale. The Human Resources role needs to change and here is how. The day to day tasks of a Human Resources professional started out as an administrative job for upper management. This consisted of being the defender or knowledgeable administrator, that keeps systems in place, and knows how each of the laws around the business works. A way of updating the flow of a Human Resources department, is to consider the three new Human Resource roles. These roles are based on some key factors that are used by top professionals in the Human Resources field. These key factors include organizational development, strategic utilization, talent management, and development. With these key factors it is possible to come up with three new roles for a Human Resources department. These roles include a Strategic Partner, an Employee Advocate, and a Change Champion. The purpose of a Strategic Partner is to do some of the daily Human Resources tasks that help the manager focus on more problematic tasks. Some of these tasks include creating work positions, interviews and hiring, rewards and recognition. This employee will also have to work with the business plan and know the ins and outs of the company policies and procedures. The roles of the Employee Advocate are to be the voice of the employees. This person must be very knowledgeable in the business, human resources, and how to help the employees. As these organizations change, that requires modernization of, not only Human Resources, but many other departments as well. The Human Resources Department and Human Resources Professionals are transforming their job descriptions and the functions of their day to day work to assist in organizational success. Human Resources Managers are delegating their work to three new job descriptions including the Strategic Partner that is now able to develop jobs and hire employees. The second is the Employee Advocate, they are a spokesperson for the employees, helping motivate and create an organizational culture of commitment, but also promoting assistance programs and employee development. Lastly is the Change Champion, they are the ones keeping track of organizational change and watching employee satisfaction.
