Chapter 3 – Conclusion

In conclusion, to this research paper, it is safe to say that throughout the chapters and commentaries analysed that religion had the biggest impact on writing in the classical civilization. Not only was religion one of the topics cover in chapter 2.1 but managed to associate it with other topics covered as well. It just proves that all three areas need each other to co-exist in writing in one way or another. Although, each topic covered, politics, religion or even socialism, could indeed be monumental each on their own because the topics covered by them are immense.

Writing was also carried out constantly in the daily lives of Greeks and Romans through architecture, rituals, literature, time, literacy, politics, mathematics and even astronomy. Source one in chapter 2.1 showed that religion and belief played an important role in writing because it now shows us how people reacted towards miracles, faith, belief and even the types of illnesses in that age. This helps us to see how different life was centuries ago and to how far we have come in medicine and religious beliefs. Source 2 in chapter 2.2 showed that politics also played a huge role in writing as it shows us how governments and hierarchies were progressing. Politics back centuries, was very different then seen today. A lot has progressed when it comes to politics but reading back on politics in previous eras, has allowed us to view inscriptions from the past to see how politics was perceived so long ago. Therefore, politics is definitely one of the monumental purposes of writing. Source three in chapter 2.3 allows us to investigate how classical civilizations used writing on a social level, in family and work life. Without social writing today, we would not have poetry, philosophy, literature, literacy or even ethics. The effects of writing on a social basis has helped society change for the better as it allows us to take a chosen topic and make it grow into something educational or sophisticated that allows society to make a break in knowledge and
