When the nighttime air hits your face it's calming. The air has a slight breeze to it as you drive with your windows down. It's not cold, yet it's not hot. Your favorite song is playing in the background and you can see the stars. No need to worry about traffic because all there is for miles is fields stretching its way across. The only light source in the car is coming off the dashboard. The greenish glow is the only thing that you can see in the car. The feeling that you're free and on top of the world surrounds you as you keep driving. The only thing on the road is an occasional car here and there. It's so peaceful and quiet outside only the owls and crickets are awake. There's no lamp post lighting your way as you go on this adventure.
The previous week they had performed the spell successfully. After contacting Mordred, Merlin and Morgana had arranged to meet him and Aglain, the leader of the druid camp, in the woods near a small waterfall, halfway between Camelot and the grave of Gorlois. Morgana always went on her annual pilgrimage to her father's tomb at this time of the year, at the end of spring.
The Creature That Opened My Eyes Sympathy, anger, hate, and empathy, these are just a few of the emotions that came over me while getting to know and trying to understand the creature created by victor frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. For the first time I became completely enthralled in a novel and learned to appreciate literature not only for the great stories they tell but also for the affect it could have on someones life as cliché as that might sound, if that weren’t enough it also gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the idiom “never judge a book by its cover.” As a pimply faced, insecure, loner, and at most times self absorbed sophomore in high school I was never one to put anytime or focus when it came time
A thick plume of black smoke and ash hung in the air in a heavy haze, almost completely obscuring the lurid red glow of the waning sun. Below, a cloud of grey plaster dust twisted and writhed amid the sea of debris as intermittent eddies of wind gusted by.
Although there are no specific patterns, the image produces the feeling of a pleasant day by associating the earthy tones with a blue sky and green grass. As one digs below the surface, the underlying message can be deducted to the fact that horrible events can happen on a seemingly perfect day. BMW continues to see out that they show their buyers and other motorists the extent of their care for people who drive
The chilly air and squishy bugs hit my face as I drove through the prairie. My four wheeler sputtered as I topped it out back in the country. Loud distracting barking of dogs as I zoomed by made it feel exhilarating because I imagined them as cheetahs chasing me like I was a zebra. The beautiful sunset shined on the beans and corn and was nearly blinding ,and the sand fought with my tires taking me side to side on the road. As I drove past a shiny chicken barn shimmering in the sun I saw a flock of eagles on a ripe manure pile looking over the fields for mice. The tall trees were swaying back and forth from the strong wind. Some clouds appeared aflame because the bright orange sunset contrasted with the dense purplish blue clouds giving
At first I did not know why or how it happened, I just was not afraid anymore. I did not get bored, I did not get sick, and I did not have to painfully wait to use the bathroom. What was once a time of fear and unease turned to a time of tranquility and delight. I was excited to drive my car, and I felt good while driving. Maybe it was because the music I was listening to calmed me. Perhaps it was the beautiful sights I saw outside my window. It could have been because it was a time when I got to leave my troubles behind me and relax. It may have been that I was driving the car rather someone else, or it could have been a combination of all of these things. All I knew was that I had a 35-minute drive to school everyday, and I enjoyed it.
As we turn off the main road I hear the familiar rumble of dirt and gravel compressing under the tires of our jeep grand cherokee. The car rocks back and forth like a lonesome ship stranded at sea as we make our way down the treacherous, pothole filled driveway. The mood of the car lightens as we reach our final destination after five hours of tiresome travel. Opening the passenger side door is like opening the space capsule back on earth after years in space. As my feet contact the ground, a light refreshing breeze runs through my hair bringing with it the faint, salty scent of the ocean.
The car was hot and stuffy when I slipped back into the driver's seat. I found the most depressing music I owned and drove out of Glenwood as the sun started to set. Two more hours until I was home, two more hours of thinking what a terrible day I had gone through, and two more hours of cussing myself for being so naïve. The drive was a long one.
Into The Lush Forest The sun had just kissed the hill, giving warm color to the sky, but I was feeling cold. The excitement in my heart was slowly losing its fire. We were lost and I felt alone, lost in the crowd of trees. A cold crowd perhaps. As the three of us walked slowly through the dense forest, our steps made loud noises - crushing the fallen leaves, and the broken twigs.
The dull light of the sun somehow manages to kindle my senses in a way I had never seen or felt before. Everything felt like it came to a standstill and the effect of the light made the scene look like one in a painting. The waves break gently into white foam on the black beach. The small crystals in the sand glimmer and twinkle brilliantly against the sunrays. The seagulls ride with the wind and the soft sand cushions my toes.
I loved to walk through my neighborhood at night. The entire atmosphere is one of merriment and quiet anxiety. I could see Christmas tree lights twinkling through open windows and icicle lights draping the galvanize roofs of some houses. The smell of freshly applied paint and floor varnish often lingered into the night and was carried by a warm breeze.
The car thrummed as she drove on the highway. As she rolled down the window the wind whipped along her face and in her hair. The forest just a blur of colors; emerald green, brown bark and the earthy scent of the soil. The gleaming moon illuminating the road and the night animals scurrying across the forest floor. Her mind delved into all the possibilities. It was as if her soul left her body as she suddenly lost track of reality and daydreamed or in this case; night dreamed.
I guess that’s just how I am. I like what the early night brings, no matter where I am. I like that night provides silence to take a breath. “Anything to escape” was the only thought that was on replay in my brain. It had been a long week full of planning and emotionally draining work and all I wanted was some time off from the noise.
What is it? Nature! The dusk and day break, the song of winged creatures, their night get-togethers, the breeze that impacts trees and the winds that clear your brain out. It's all nature and its magnificence divines. Nature is all over and not simply in resorts, parks, woodlands and mountains.
The car was quiet, quiet with fear radiating from all directions. We continued down the neverending highway as we got closer every second, to our home for the next nine days. The wheels turned followed with a jerk of my head. I found myself in a half circle on the edge of perpetual woods. My nerves becoming unbearable, I opened the door soon to smell the nature flow into the car.
