In the novel The Red Pyramid, Rick Riordan tells the story of two children, Sadie and Carter Kane, who find out they posses powers capable of defeating the most powerful Egyptian god, Set. After the loss of their father to Set, the the Kane’s seek revenge to retrieve their father, Julius Kane, from the underworld. When Julius is sent to the underworld from London, Carter and Sadie are not aware of the powers they possess; as the novel progresses, the two realize their full potential and eventually defeat Set. Carter and Sadie train with Julius’ brother, Amos, in the House of Life, which is located in New York. Riordan tells this breathtaking story through the use of many elements.
