What is school censorship? It's basically when the school blocks/bans certain media, books, or even clothing from use on campus. Most of school censorship is due to un-happy parents trying to force the school to create a more healthy environment for students and their children alike, an example of this would be taking out the reading: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn because of racial slurs. Does it violate the first amendment? Surely students should have a say on what they can wear, say, and read? On the other hand, maybe the school is right to restrict some of these distasteful readings and such from our schools, in an effort to create a clean and safe place of learning.

School is considered a total institution which is a cool way in saying, do this, do that and abide by the rules. Which most likely means the school’s best interest is to protect its inhabitants, right? With practically 100% of public schools using wifi or a way of connecting their students to the internet according to www.education.com, all students aren't going to always be the most cautious nor respectful while using the internet in school. One example of the abuse of the internet at school is going on social media instead of doing school work, which would most likely distract students from getting work done. Obviously school censorship would help prevent this, it would block the websites students should not go on and provide the websites that are most optimal for study and
