She possesses many substantial qualities, including her experience with politics, her visions for equality, and her kindhearted personality. Her image has been manipulated in social media to connotate a negative image with her to the uneducated and uninformed voters. However, her actions contradict the negativity associated with her in the media. She is actually a kind, down to earth person who wants the best for everyone in the country. Her maternal instincts, as she has one daughter, naturally come out when she considers the entire country and its necessities. She is especially sympathetic to children, making sure they have the best opportunities ahead of them. She is attempting to guarantee that all children have the chance to attend preschool. Additionally, she has created various programs that benefit children, such as the Children’s Defense Fund. The CDF has earned nothing but praise for Hillary, complimenting her work ethic and her deep care for children. She also created the Children’s Health Insurance Program which provides health insurance to children in need. Hillary Clinton is a genuinely kind and selfless person, working to provide everyone in the country with the best possible
Even though people think it’s not “normal” for a female to be president anything is possible. Clinton went to both Wellesley and Yale colleges. When she Yale, she studied to be a lawyer, which she would later become. She eventually found her way to marry. Clinton married William “Bill” Clinton in 1975, and had a child Chelsea. The former President Bill would later become president and that led her to becoming the first lady. As you can see she had to balance a lot in her life so far.
Judge Sonia Sotomayor was nominated to replace Supreme Court Justice Souter on June 1, 2009 by President Barack Obama. After extensive Senate hearings by the Committee on the Judiciary, Sonia Sotomayor was confirmed by the United States Senate with a 68 to 31 vote on August 6th, 2009. (Supreme Court) Although it was clear that Republicans had no intention to filibuster the nomination, partisan lines were clearly divided both during the committee hearings and illustrated in the Senate votes. However, due to the Democratic Majority in the Senate, it was clear that Sotomayor would be confirmed. During the hearings, Sotomayor answered the questions honestly, eloquently, and cautiously. During questioning, it was evident which issues were most important to the Senate: impartiality, activism and the ‘wise’ Latina.
I am choosing to write my essay focusing on Nancy Pelosi, arguably one of the most influential politicians of her time, and certainly one of the outstanding ladies of the political world. Not only was she the first woman to serve as Speaker of the House, she also was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame at Seneca Falls. She ranks with the most consequential speakers, certainly in the last 75 years.”(Burstyn) Nancy Pelosi was born on March 26th in 1940 and she has represented San Francisco for approximately 29 years. This however is not by far her most notable achievement, speaker of the house aside, under her guidance the 111th US Congress was said to be the most productive in the history of its conception. This means that she was able to oversee the 111th Congress in a manner that minimized the terrible three, collective action problems, commitment problems, and coordination problems. These problems all come down to the inability to make decisions, and are extremely ponderous to efficiency. She ran it as famously, even though the house was so divided when she took the pos...
Perfection, even mixed in with a few imperfections, is very hard to meet. One would have to be of the offspring of God to meet some of the qualities mentioned. However, far from the offspring of God, there is another that comes close to many of the generalizations stated. She is a leader, a leader and is probably one of the strongest women of her time. First, Mrs. Clinton as a leader possesses many of the qualities mentioned by Machiavelli such as her toughness and appearance of good morals.
The goal of Hillary’s speech is to persuade her audience that her ideas are valid, by using ethos, pathos, and logos. Hillary is the First Lady and Senator, she shows credibility as an influential activist for woman rights. “Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families. Over the past two and a half years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing women in my country and around the world” (Clinton 2).
Hillary Clinton, never having a legislative record, has been the First Lady to the President for 8 years. Clinton has been a resident of New York State for only a few months previous to the time she began running for office. Clinton is challenged by her opponent because radio and television ads seem to turn the public against Clinton. This is an example of Lazio criticizing her because of his negatively directed ads towards Clinton. Because Clinton has never been involved in a legislature before, she has no voting record. This could prove to be a disadvantage for Clinton because voters cannot see what she has previously supported. Hillary has an advantage in the election because the New York Times endorsed her. Being the most prominent newspaper in New York, this is a sign of success as the last two politicians endorsed by the NYT have won their elections. Another disadvantage that Clinton has is that she is not a born New York citizen. She has been “carpetbagging”, or buying property in a state just so she can run for office in the state. Hillary takes a firm stand on many of the issues facing New York State and the Congress today. Hillary Clinton’s views on abortion are that she supports the Roe vs. Wade ruling. This act was passed in 1973 when the US Supreme Court legalized abortion. She would vote to ban late-term abortion, unless the mother or child was threatened by the birth. Clinton would reject Supreme Court jurors who are opposed to abortion rights. Hillary also agrees with federal funds spent on abortions at military hospitals. Hillary acknowledges the competition between her and Lazio by retaliating to a comment he made by saying, “My opponent [Lazio] is wrong. I have said many times that I can support a ban on late term abortion including partial-birth abortions, so long as the health and life of the mother is protected”.
Bill Clinton was known has the first Democratic president since FDR to win a second term he ran for office from January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001. He was the forty-second president of the United State but before that in 1974 he ran for the House of Representatives of the United State but he lost. But then he got elected has a general attorney in Arkansas from 1977-1979. He was also the governor of Arkansas from 1978- 1980 and from 1983-1993. Bill Clinton is a charmer full of confident he's also very handsome, outgoing, ambitious, and is great humanitarian. When he was in office, he would always go well...
Pointing out how she lies more than pinocchio, with one main example being her lying about her using her private email server. Being deemed “extremely careless,” by the FBI because of how she intentionally deleted tons and thousands of classified information (Kozak 2016). With that only just being a small fraction of the pie, my campaign team would gather up all the lies she’s ever told put it in an ad showing how she’s not trustworthy. How she would lie and hide things from the citizens if she were to take the Oval Office this coming January, discrediting her
The reader learns, in depth, that Senator Clinton is an intellectual, a voracious reader, a policy expert, a strong advocate for the poor, a guardian of children, a clever politician, an outstanding American citizen, a committed mother, a dedicated wife, and a never-say-die woman who seeks power without apology. That which may be new to the reader, however, is the profound impact Hillary's family and upbringing had on her political beliefs and eventual political career, which has made her into somewhat of a celebrity in the American culture.
Hilary Clinton is an active member in the movement to improve women’s rights and give a voice to the youth, all around the world. In 1977, Clinton helped to found Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. In Arkansas she personally took part in reforming the education system. Between 1997 and 1991, Clinton helped create the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, the Adoption and Safe Families Act, and the Foster Care Independence Act. Taking to social media to get her voice heard, Clinton has always tried to spread awareness for empowerment of
Hilary Clinton was born Hilary Diane Rodham, in Chicago Illinois during the year 1947. She was the oldest of three born to Hugh Ellsworth Rodham, a small textile supply owner, and his wife Dorothy. From her youth up until the time that she married, Hilary was a very busy lady. In her youth, she worked as a babysitter after school. She also watched children during her vacation times. After graduating from grade school she applied to NASA, only to find out that women were not accepted into the astronaut program. Inspired by a speech by Martin Luther King, she spent a lot of her off time in college working at various public service jobs. She worked for various Democratic candidates subcommittees, mainly dealing with children’s defense and children’s studies funds. During her second year of law school, she...
Clinton as a teacher and most importantly as a role model. There is a story behind how Mr. Clinton earned my respect, which had nothing to do with his cute looks, but rather his character. From what I've seen, he is a hardworking, dedicated, and caring individual. Most of all, he maintains his personality as an ordinary person just like you and me. His work as a president for the past years speaks for it self. From what I've observed, Mr.
Many Americans are beginning to wonder who will run as the Democratic candidate for the next president of the United States. Since the 2008 election, one particular name has been the topic of conversation around most media outlets and households across the county. With over one million supporters who believe in her abilities to lead, Hillary Clinton possesses the qualities that meet the leadership criteria that would help her to become the leader of the free world. I choose to research Hillary Clinton because I admire the drive and passion she puts into her work. She is a unique global leader whose activism has promoted social change around the world.
Each candidate was asked to describe their vision on the need for more jobs throughout America, but mainly for those in need. Hillary was the first to answer. She goes for a wide variety of issues. Her response includes an equal and higher pay rate for every citizen, a rise in clean and
I am not affiliated with any political parties, but in my opinion, females could be successful presidents too. I'm sure that if Hillary Clinton does become the president of the United States, she would be just as successful as like her husband Bill Clinton. The world hasn't had a woman president in any term of presidency, but it doesn't mean that a woman can't be president. However, in order to for the United States to have a good president, the president needs to make wise choices, keep his/her promises, follow the laws and show that people that they're capable to help the world. Also, I believe that some women do have most of these qualities in them and they could become a better president than some other men. When people start to cast their
