In IFunny, the author shows that no matter how sad your life is you can find a way to spread positivity and not put yourself down. I enjoyed this book because it kept me interested in Jamie’s story of how he lives his life
...ce of being happy. This novel taught me how developing your identity is a life long process that come with experience and errors however, the results are worth it.
In a way, the main character of the novel, Doug Swieteck has been okay all along, despite his disbelief in himself. As time passes, Doug continually grows to understand the state of being okay and while it is not an easy ride, it is clearly a rewardable one. The point of Doug’s journey is to show the reader that everybody questions who they are, but it’s what they do with this question that matters. Anything can happen, and Doug’s story really shows that becoming okay, the promise of more than okay, is possible.

If my life had no purpose, no individuality, and no happiness, I would not want to live. This book teaches the importance of self expression and independence. If we did not have these necessities, then life would be like those in this novel. Empty, redundant, and fearful. The quotes above show how different life can be without our basic freedoms. This novel was very interesting and it shows, no matter how dismal a situation is, there is always a way out if you never give up, even if you have to do it alone.

The first stop on their rebellious journey is to bail out Bueller’s girlfriend, Sloane, from school. They do so by calling Ed Rooney,

Tommy scuffles through the front door, drops his book bag on the floor and plops down on the couch with a scowl across his face. As his PlayStation fires to life, he replays scenes from the day in his head of being shoved into the lockers by Billy, unable to form the words to impress Sussie, and sitting alone at lunch listening to the popular kids laugh and joke, ignoring him as if he did not exist. No one understands him. No one cares about him, because he is not strong, charming, or popular. All that is soon avoided as Tommy dives into a world where he controls everything and everyone either fears or loves him. If he fails, all he must do is reset. Here he can be anything he wants, and he can do and have it all.
This book actually impacted my view on life a bit. Life is a fragile gift and this book made me wonder if I am using my time in all the wrong ways. We should all work to be using our days as best we can and try to be happy regardless of our sadness. As we all know that’s not as simple as it sounds, which makes the strength of Hazel and Augustus extremely inspiring and even eye-opening. When I compare myself to these two characters I hope I can be more like them.

Teenage humour is unlike adult humour. Teenagers laugh at “Toilet” humour while adults laugh at “Civilized” humour. Therefore considering that teenagers laugh at the opposite of what adults do, we need to define the reasons why teenage and adult humour is so different.
