There are many elements in the world and one of them is cobalt. It is a silvery blue metal with a blue coat. It is element number twenty-seven on the table, which means that it has twenty-seven protons and electrons. One mole or its atomic weight is 58.9 grams. It has a relatively high melting and boiling point, the melting point being 1,495 degrees Celsius or 2,723 Fahrenheit and the boiling point being 2,927 degrees Celsius or 5,301 Fahrenheit. The top three countries that mine this element are the District Republic of the Congo, Cuba, and Australia in that order. Cobalt has had and still has many uses in the world today. This element’s uses include alloys, electronics, chemicals, agriculture, and health industries. It is used in all of these industries in many ways. (Cobalt Periodic)
Cobalt is a part in a lot of steels, specifically in super alloys. It is one of the main uses of Cobalt really. These alloys are meant to last. They work in space turbines, jet turbines, power plants, rocket motors, nuclear reactors, and chemical equipment (Cobalt Facts). Cobalt is mixed in these alloys along with iron, nickel, chromium, tungsten, aluminum, and titanium (Newton). These alloys are employed because they are resistant to corrosion and are meant to preform, not break, or wear down at high stress and temperature levels. Cobalt has these qualities so, it is applied to increase the resistance in the alloys. Cobalt is also used in cemented carbides. These are cutting tools made to cut metals and because of this they need high strength and durability. Cobalt fills those needs of durability and strength again to help these carbides maintain their use (Cobalt Facts). Cobalt is also used in metal replacement bones and corrosion resistant s...

...cobalt is used in metals that make fake, replacement bones for people.
These are some of the many uses of Cobalt. It is used in lots of heat resistant metals. It also is a good magnetic and electric conductor. It supplies the environment and humans with a very helpful vitamin and other benefits. It is used in numerous chemical processes with dyes and oils. Cobalt will continue being a helpful element in the future, probably, with more uses in store. It has helped already in lots of ways today. Cobalt has affected people’s lives already and its uses only keep on growin

Despite these advantages there are concerns which affect patient’s and surgeon’s decision to undertake metal-on-metal hip resurfacing arthroplasty. These issues range from being technically demanding, stringent patient selection criteria (11), high early incidence of femoral neck fractures(12, 13) and reported risk of high circulating metal ions(14-17). There are theoretical concerns about cancers following exposure to high levels of cobalt and chromium ions (18).
Nowadays this element more active or used for infrastructures, electronics goods, and other services, this element also we call it a Dr. Copper element because of high levels of sense of Ph.D. economic benefits. Copper has 20 protons and electrons with the symbol of Cu. In 21 century the market of this element goes up to 20 million tons a year buy and sell in the world trades scale in three big cities in the world such as New York, London, and Shanghai. Cu more necessary for wire, electronics, and computer chips; Copper also helps us to away bacteria
Molybdenum use increased a lot during World War I, when demand for tungsten made tungsten rare, and strong steels were at expensive. Molybdenum is used in aircraft and missile parts, and in filaments. Molybdenum acts as a catalyst in the petroleum industry for removing organic sulfurs from petroleum products.
Police discretion. Police discretion is defined as the decision-making power afforded to Police Officers that allows them to decide if they want to pursue police procedure or simply let someone off with a warning. Police discretion can be also defined as the individual’s ability to make a decision based on the principle of courses in the actions. Police officers are usually in the position of having to make decisions on how to handle a specific situation alone, or without immediate supervision. In other words, police discretion is the choice the officer has on how he or she enforces the law. Discretion in law enforcement includes whom to arrest, whom to investigate, whom to talk to, and whom to interview (Pollock, 2014). Use of discretion
OFHC copper refers to oxygen-free, high conductivity copper alloys, which typically are types of pure copper alloys. OFHC are metallic materials of the group nonferrous alloys, which is known for it is high conductivity of electrical and thermal ability. OFHC produced by the direct conversion of selected refined cathodes and castings under carefully controlled conditions to prevent contamination of the pure oxygen-free metal during processing. The method of producing OFHC copper ensures extra high grade of metal with a copper content of 99.98%. With so small a content of extraneous elements, the inherent properties of elemental copper are brought forth to a high degree. The most common OFHC copper alloys are C10100 (OFE) where it has 99.99% of copper and less 0.2%of oxygen and CAD10200 were it has 99.95% and around 1.5 ppm of oxygen. The companion that could be found in OFHC alloys are; Copper with 99.98% of weight, Oxygen with less than or equal to 1.5 ppm, Antimony with less than or equal to 0.1 ppm, Arsenic with less than or equal to 0.1 ppm, Nickel with less than or equal to 10 ppm, Manganese with less or equal to 0.5 ppm, Tin with less or more than 2 ppm, Zinc with less than or equal to 1 ppm, Tellurium with less than or equal to 2 ppm, Sulfur with less than or equal to 15 ppm, Silver with less than or equal to 25 ppm, Selenium with less than or equal to 3 ppm ,Phosphorus with less than or equal to 3 ppm, Bisumasu with less than or equal to 0.1 ppm, Cadmium with less than or equal to 0.1ppm,lead with less than or equal to 1ppm and Iron with less than or equal to 1 ppm . OFHC used mostly in building constructions and as electronic products.
Mr. Cronstedt discovered nickel in a mineral called niccolite. He originally planned to extract copper from this new mineral but got none at all. This is why nickel, at first, was called "false copper". Instead, Cronstedt got a silvery-white metal, which was eventually used for other things.
A wide variety of coating alloys and wrought alloys can be prepared that give the metal greater strength, castability, or resistance to corrosion or high temperatures. Some new alloys can be used as armor plate for tanks, personnel carriers, and other military vehicles.
Iron is the fourth most abundant element in the Earth’s crust. Because it is so common, iron has been used by human society for thousands of years. Iron was known and used for weapons in prehistoric ages, the earliest example still in existence; a group of rusty iron beads found in Egypt, dates from about 4000BC. This period in history was given the name Iron Age because it was the time when people found ways to get iron and to use it for building tools and weapons.
#Uses of Fullerene Fullerenes are widely used, but I will just be listing but a few of the uses below (1) fullerene binds specific antibiotics to the structure to target resistant bacteria and even target certain cancer cells such as melanoma. (2) fullerene can be used as light activated antimicrobial agents (3) it is used as an insulator (4) it is used as a
Stainless steel is a type of alloy that has a very strong lattice structure (an arrangement/ shape of the crystals or other objects) which in some case can be more beneficial than others depending on the type of application it may be used for. In many cases this structure will make the material more suited to being used in engineering applications such as tools for instance a hammer (stainless steel alloys) , also they can be used for gears, engines, electrical motors and hydraulic systems because the structure makes the material so strong. So when the arrangement of the structure is as above it makes the overall material even stronger which makes it a good for all the applications stated above. I believe its strength and durability are its main properties as these are commonly needed in the engineering industry, although it is also very well known to be used for its corrosion resistance as it is resistant to many types of corrosion. It is used for these properties because the components such as gears need to be strong in order to keep transferring and altering the rotary motion and torque exhibited in the machine that it may be used in, durable to withstand any loads or pressure put onto it and also corrosion resistance to give the components a bigger life span and increase its rate of work throughout its required use.
The Periodic Table of Elements is commonly used today when studying elements. This table’s history begins in ancient times when Greek scientists first started discovering different elements. Over the years, many different forms of the periodic table have been made which set the basis for the modern table we use today. This table includes over 100 elements and are arranged by groups and periods. Groups being vertical columns and periods being horizontal columns. With all of the research conducted over the years and the organization of this table, it is easy to use when needed.
There are many different types of alloys; some are so common that they carry on a life beyond their metal bases. For example, 65-90% of copper mixed with 10-35% of zinc create the well known alloy brass, which provides increased resistance to corrosion in things like instruments and
Welding is a very important tool used in our daily lives. Welding is the process of joining two metal pieces together by applying heat. A filler helps to make the joint. Everything we use from trucks to houses have some type of welding in them. There are many types of welding careers to choose from. There is a great demand for welders today. My project was to build a table and candelabra out of metal. Most of the metal I gathered came from junk yards and had to be cleaned of rust.
Steelmaking is a process in which raw materials such as iron and ferrous scrap are used to form steel. This process improves the quality of steel, giving it specific characteristics to suit the needs of diverse industries. Due to the availability, strength, and relatively inexpensive production cost, steel has become one of our world’s most valuable resources. The production of steel directly effects our lives nearly every day. Transportation on our railways, erecting buildings, manufacturing appliances and tools, canned food, and computers are just a few applications of steel in modern life.
This discovery has proven very beneficial to the society and the world because it is a scientific way of correcting mistakes and filling holes those previous materials has not filled. It has been very effective serving its original purpose and it has also been effective in solving other problems such as biomedical and physical (sports). This is a great breakthrough because if there are challenges that need to be fixed by a strong, flexible material, then this is it. Imagine if planes were built with this metal technique then it would be lighter and stronger at the same time, and it wouldn’t freeze as quickly.
