The letters
Robert Walton--the captain of a ship headed on a dangerous voyage is headed to the North Pole. Robert writes letters to his sister Margaret. In the first letter he tells her how he wants to accomplish the undiscovered or “some great purpose”. In the second and third letter he tells her how lonely and isolated he feels, how he’s romantic, with his “love for the marvellous, a belief in the marvellous,” and he thinks he’s not going to be anybody. In the third letter Walton tells his sister that his ship has set sail and that he is confident that he will achieve his aim. In the fourth letter Walton tells her how his ship is between huge sheets of ice. Walton and his men spot a sledge guided by a gigantic creature not far from them. Walton and the stranger become friends, and the stranger begins to tell Walton his story.

The reader learns that the stranger is Victor Frankenstein. It starts off about his family and his childhood. Victor Frankenstein had a fabulous and luxury life. Victor 's dad friend died and his dad became Caroline 's protector, when her father, Alphonse’s longtime friend Beaufort, died in poverty. They married two years later, and Victor was born soon after. After Victor 's parents marry they adopt a girl named Elizabeth, who becomes Victors play thing. Victor’s mother decides at the adoption that Elizabeth and Victor should someday get married.
Victor and Elizabeth grow up happy together and he spends time with his best friend Henry Clerval. Victor desired to learn everything about nature, he is fascinated about the unknown. ... what the future holds because of the creatures threats and how Elizabeth is going to feel. He tells Elizabeth to go rest and he went to go search for the creature because he knew he was coming. Not long after he left he heard Elizabeth scream. The monster killed her. Victor didn’t intend that he was going after Elizabeth so Victor goes home and tells his dad about Elizabeth and in a couple of days his dad dies of grief. Victor finally tells his secret to a magistrate, but the magistrate didn’t believe him. Victor then vows to kill the creature so he goes to search for him. Victors whole family had been destroyed. He leaves Geneva and goes to the snow and ice in the North.Victor is sick on the ship and he got struck in the ice. Victor told his story to Walton and tells him to kill the “fiend”. Victor dies and the creature disappears in the darkness and plans to burn.
