Khaled Hosseini, The author behind the non-fiction novel titled ‘’The kite runner’’ was born on March 4, 1965. He’s a Afghan-born American novelist and physician. The kite runner took placein afghan, where he was born. Some main characters from the story are Amir, Ali , Sohrab, Rahim Khan, Farid, and Soraya.The main conflict of the novel is how amir couldn't intervene with hassan's rape. The story portrays how Amir dealt with his guilt and how he went about atoning for his actions. Heutilizes literary elements to his advantage to better portray certain situations. He also utilizes it attimes to better clarify ideas and to better project images for the audience so they can have a moredeveloped understanding. In The kite runner one of the dilemmas is the relationship between Amir and his father. There relationship was a very poor father-son one and throughout the book it's portrayed in many ways. Khaled utilizes imagery in the book to better depict the tension in their relationship for the readers. In the book it states ‘‘I am a baby in that photograph and Baba is holding me, looking tired and grim. I’m in his arms, but it’s Rahim Khan’s pinky my fingers are curled around.’’(Khaled Hosseini). This detailed description given by Amir gives the reader aimage of a old photograph of when he was a baby. The photograph shows the reader how even asa baby Amir still had a rough relationship with his father. That in turn started developing into a tough relationship as Amir and his father grew
