Take it from someone who has been there before, I have experimented with my hair and have damaged it a lot by thinking I knew what I was doing when in all reality I did not. It was horrible, I have ended up with dry damaged brittle orange hair before and it was not pretty at all! The devastation of damaging your hair because you think you know what you are doing or think you will save money by doing it yourself is not at all worth it in the end. It is always best to seek the help of a professional when you go through your stage of change. The extra cost is well worth it, not only will you save your hair the trouble, but you will also be a lot happier the first time around.

Having long, healthy hair could possibly be one of the envied genes amongst women. Many women take supplements or undergo surgery to provide them with the added confidence of having luxurious hair. Although, those methods have been proven to work, there are many other less invasive methods available for obtaining beautiful hair. The use of hair extensions have become a popular trend in today’s society. Many celebrities, TV personalities and even politicians have owned up to adding a few hair extensions here and there. Hair extensions can be used to add length and volume to thin, short and receding hair. However, finding a beautician to install them can be bit pricy for the average individual. Being able to install them on your own can not only save you thousands of dollars a year in salon costs, it can also be used as a trade to make some additional cash on the side.
Esthetics, or aesthetics, translated literally means, “concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty.” As an industry, esthetics refers to the health and appearance of the skin on an epidermal level. It encompasses skin care, hair removal, and other services that aid in improving an individual’s physical appearance. Some of these services include deep cleansing facials, full body waxing, chemical peels, eyelash extension application, eyelash and brow tinting, and makeup application.
...on. Treatments should be applied to the hair as a protector before the chemicals are added because they can apply serious damage to the healthy hair. If the hair isn’t treated properly with several chemicals being added such as relaxers or dye, the hair can easily become dry, brittle, and create many split ends throughout your hair even rising up to the roots. As I was doing my research paper I did experience some difficulties because I didn’t stick with one topic in the cosmetology field like hairstyling, coloring hair, nails, and even trimming of the hair so that caused me to even research harder, but it’s nothing wrong with challenging yourself at times.
Cosmetology has been around since the ancient times and the Egyptians. It was the Egyptian women who gave a lot of importance to hair care, nails, makeup, and overall beauty. The natural look changed the reverted look to the cosmetic look. As years roll by, cosmetology and the business of looking good began to pick up a huge amount of customers. Getting hair curled, ironed, or wavy is very popular now. A lot of women today all over the world want to look like their favorite star. It was that need and craze to look good, which made cosmetology successful as it is today. Shekinah Jo Anderson is a professional hair stylist with just a few years of professional experience. She has already struck celebrity status, and is a rising star in the beauty industry. Shekinah is very successful because she mastered, advanced and contemporary techniques in cosmetology at the Empire Beauty School in Atlanta.
The practice of improving the beauty of others may seem insignificant to some but for those in process of studying the cosmetology industry take great pride in the work they hope to produce. Hair stylist and nail technicians improve the way people look and feel about oneself to better improve self confidence; cosmetologist strive to do the best they can to achieve the look that their client may be searching for. However, these techniques must be taught thoroughly and without the proper teaching techniques, the upcoming cosmetologist may feel behind and uncertain about their abilities when performing on clients. Without the proper and professional ways of teaching, the student struggle to ever gain success in the business; this business builds only from the repetition of great work and failing to achieve the overall style of the desired look from the client will result in a failing business. The search of finding a successful and up to date school requires more work than one may assume.
There are so many forms of propaganda that surround our lives on a every day basis, and these negative messages persuade and shape our thoughts of perfection, of who we are, and who we ought to be. The beauty industry and its’ advertisements is one type of propaganda that ultimately characterizes the way we think of ourselves. The media is relentless in reminding us every chance they get why women need to be perfect and what we need to achieve that. There is endless pressure as women to have a perfect body and appearance. The beauty industry’s aim through advertisement is to make women feel as if we need to buy the beauty products in order to look and feel like the models on television, magazines, and in commercials. The beauty industry is very successful because as women, we often feel compelled to buy whatever is necessary to look “perfect.” In years past the beauty industry has been solely focused on the obvious beauty tools such as makeup, hair accessories, lotion, etc. However, we have become more intrigued by even more aspects of the beauty world such as undergarments and everywhere in between. In other words, media propaganda is more interested in the “selling of sex” now than ever before. An unfortunate yet accurate depiction by actress Helen Mirren reads, “Flesh sells. People don’t want to see pictures of churches, they want to see naked bodies.” Just as Mirren knows this to be true, so does the beauty industry and they have taken it and ran with it.
