There are many different viewpoints on climate change. The Bible shows many different verses throughout the whole book, that provide excellent examples on that topic. Climate change has been something that has been discussed throughout many years by many top scientists, that defy using the bible as one of their sources. These Viewpoints will show you that we do have a God that created our world and everything that makes it amazing.
The bible has many good examples of climate change. The verse Genesis 8:22 says “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” That shows us that our seasons, our different temperatures throughout the year, along with our day and night will not
cease. God will not change our earth throughout time, but humans have made different chemicals mixes which affect the earth in many ways we are not aware of. Humans are making chemicals that are changing our earth’s atmosphere. Our biggest problem was the manufacturing of CFC’s is would destroy part of our earth’s atmosphere and allow for more of our sun's rays to come in contact with the earth. The result in more of our sun's rays coming in contact in with our earth is that the earth is becoming warmer. The temperatures will be affected by 0.6 celsius from 1950 to 2002. The earth’s temperature has rose 1.6F in the 20th century. Scientists believe that the Earth’s climate has always fluctuated and the rise in temperature in the 20th century is within the bounds of natural temperature fluctuations over the past 3,000 years. Other Scientists also believe that climate change are primarily caused by fluctuations in the sun’s heat, not my human activity. Studies have showed that the earth is becoming warmer and achieving different temperatures than what they were recording 50 years ago. Humans are making many different chemicals which destroy different parts of our atmosphere which is affecting our climate. Humans should create a system to test new chemicals and substances, to ensure that they are not harming our beautiful earth that God gave us. In all the chemicals that humans are creating are changing this world in ways we are not aware of, and we need to learn how to control chemicals we are making to save parts of our earth.
For this lab I chose to research the climate zombie theory that says that it is "arrogant or blasphemous to think humans change climate." This zombie theory states that humans don’t change climate, but from what I researched, humans do change climate. Humans are one of the main cause for climate change. According to the U.S. Global Change Research Program, the planet is warming and it’s been “driven primarily by human activity- predominantly the burning of fossil fuels.” Scientists have collected the temperatures over the years and have found that the temperatures have been rising, they have increased from 1.3 degrees to 1.9 degrees Fahrenheit since 1895, most occurring since the 1970’s. There is evidence that human activities are the main
Stanley Kramer's film, Inherit the Wind, examines a trial based on the 1925 Scopes trial in Dayton, Tennessee. Often referred to as "The Trial of the Century" (Scopes Trial Web Page), the Scopes trial illuminated the controversy between the Christian theory of creation and the more scientific theory of evolution. John Scopes, a high school biology teacher, was arrested for illegally teaching evolutionism to his class. "The meaning of the trial emerged because it was seen as a conflict of social and intellectual values" (Scopes Trial Web Page). Kramer's film dramatizes this conflict between the Christian believers and the evolutionists in "Hillsboro, heavenly Hillsboro, the buckle on the Bible belt" (Inherit the Wind). Prosecutor Matthew Brady represents the values of fundamental Christianity while defense attorney Henry Drummond is the voice of reason and science. Although the two men have been good friends and partners in the past, the case in Hillsboro illuminates the difference in their values. Through the scene on the porch with Matthew Brady and Henry Drummond, director Stanley Kramer illustrates the incessant tug-of-war between religion and science. More specifically, camera angle and Drummond's metaphor of the "Golden Dancer" help deliver Kramer's belief in evolutionism.
Ice cores drawn from Greenland, Antarctica show that our climate does respond to changes in greenhouse gas levels. It also shows that changes happen quickly (years).
However, climate change is happening. The global average land and sea temperature has increased over the twentieth century, with the North and South Poles being particularly affected (Learmonth, et al., 2006). In turn, this has caused ice cover to decrease and sea levels
If one was to discuss weather with his neighbor I am sure certain questions would come up. Most of these will deal with rain or in the winter snow, but most questions usually regard something falling, or not falling, from the sky. I think bad weather is talked about more than good weather. During good weather most people just say, "this is good weather," and leave it at that.
Climate change is a change in global temperature and regional climate patterns. At the turn of the 20th century, there has been rising issues about climate change, arguing that global warming and climate change is an issue worsened by the human race. Change in climate is a natural process in which changes from season to season and even fluxuates over thousands of years. Over the time frame of the last 650,000 years there has been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat (Global Climate Change). It could be argued that climate change is a natural process and the Earth is suppose to change its temperature from hot to cold. Yes, that is true. However, the rate in which the temperature is changing is something this Earth has never endured. In
The effects of climate are felt throughout the world, all living things are affected with it. The effects of climate change are affecting directly the human life. It has been noticed that around the globe, seasons are shifting, temperatures are climbing and sea levels are rising. The world compares to century ago, it has changed drastically and it is becoming worse with climate change. Climate change will rapidly alter the lands and waters which we all depends upon for survival which will leave our children thus the future generation with a different world. In the time to come if not much is done for the case of climate change, There will be shortage of food and drinks, many new illnesses and diseases and some part of the world will become in appropriate for living things to live due to natural disaster. It can be that with the rapid Global warming and climate change, one-fourth of Earth’s species could be headed for extinction by the year 2050.
For a majority of people, it isn’t new news that the Earth’s climate is changing and increasingly getting warmer. For quite some time now, people have been arguing about what the actual causes are and what role humans have played in the current condition of the earth. A good bit of people seem to be in agreement that due to the actions of humans, the earth’s climate is increasingly getting worse and that if things don’t change, than everyone living on earth will be facing the consequences. However, this is not entirely true. The fault of climate change does not fall solely on the shoulders of mankind, but on the earth as well.
By observing the climate system it has become very strong and clear that changes in the climate are taking place, and our climate system is getting warmer as time goes by. Changes in the climate from the last 60 years have never been experienced by the population.
The Pope addresses the science of climate change. What does the scientific consensus tell us about climate change, its causes and consequences?
The Bible and the written laws of nature are like two different books. These books are written and read in completely different languages. The Bible was written in the view of people of that time; whereas, science laws are constantly written and changed for modern world. Therefore, there always will be some controversy between two thoughts. There are still many unknown things in the world that science is yet to find out. Christianity on the other hand accepts extraordinary occurrences and prevents science from explaining things that it cannot. Christianity is needed to explain unbelievable phenomena that are part of our daily life.
4) If the passage must be interpreted, then can it be interpreted to fit the Copernican system as well as the Ptolemaic system?
There are still some believers that support that climate change is not real and that they are just made up facts so people can grab the opportunity to make money with new products that will help the world to become “cleaner.” Their arguments are that the earth always had these types of climate changes just like a natural cycle. When asked about if there is any link on how in the past decades, when humans started using fossil fuels and the changes became worst and worst, they come with a response that it is just a
As defined by the Oxford dictionary, climate change is, “a change in global or regional climate patterns, in particular a change apparent from the mid to late 20th century onwards and attributed largely to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels.” (Oxford Dictionaries) Moreover, evidence of climate change can be found all over the world, and in many different forms, but is especially prevalent in certain regions. For instance, in Southeast Asia, specifically the nation of the Philippines, signs of climate change can be observed frequently, if not regularly. One major ...
The earth is a complex system, which continues to evolve and change. Climate change and global warming are currently popular in the political agenda. But what does “climate” really mean? The difference between weather and climate can be conveyed in a single sentence: “Climate is what you expect; weather is what you get.” Based on research of the geologic record, we know that climate change has happened throughout Earth's history and at present, ever-increasing evidence points to the roles that humans play in altering Earth systems. The Earth and its atmosphere receive heat energy from the sun; the atmospheric heat budget of the Earth depends on the balance between incoming solar radiation and outgoing radiation from the planet; which has been constant over the last few thousand years. However present evidence seems to suggest that the recent increase in temperature has been brought about by pollution of the atmosphere, in particular the release of huge amounts of carbon dioxide, mostly through Anthropogenic Forcing (human activity) and other various internal and external factors. I...
