“A happy family is but an earlier heaven”(Brown). The importance of family is shown in the book “Into the Wild”,and how it is important to keep this relationship. Chris’s relationship with his family was terrible, and led to him regretting it. It also tells a story about Chris and his journey to live in the wild in Alaska. There are many people that he met that impact his life on his way. Although to do this he stopped contacting his family, and his relationship with them was ruined. It is possible to have a close relationship with your parents or family by keeping in touch, spending quality time with them, and talking to them about any concerns or problems that come up. Chris’s relationship with his parents was never perfect, and is not a terrific example to follow if you want one. Chris's action would not be helpful for a close relationship with his parents. Chris would have been able to keep a better relationship if he sent them at least one letter. Chris’s mistakes can be avoided by making sure to keep in touch with your parents. When Chris was young, he was closer to his parents, and had a happy relationship. They were so close that Chris’s grandfather’s affinity for the wilderness, left a giant impression on Chris. Chris’s father recalls, “When Chris was eight, Walt took him on his first overnight backpacking trip…”(Krakauer 109). Chris shows that spending time with family can help inspire, and help the relationship grow. Chris and his dad spent time bonding, which helped their relationship blossom.
