Sleeping in dark quiet places seems too be most helpful to people that get migraines. Regular sleeping hours are extremely important to keep your migraines at a less chance of happening. Regular sleeping hours are important because it is keeping your brain used to the same thing at the same time. Unwinding at the end of the day is extremely important because it is giving your brain time to shut down and forget about everything that happened during the day. When you are trying to sleep, no matter when it is during the day you need to minimize your distractions. Go to bed and do not play on your phone or read or anything like that. When you go to bed it is important to go straight to bed. Last of all with sleep, do not force yourself to sleep. If you force yourself to sleep you will find that it actually wakes you up and then you really won’t fall
Sometimes I have trouble sleeping. I lie in bed for hours while my mind churns through endless streams of fragmented thoughts and memories, bits of brain matter that I do not have time for in my waking life. I have tried the homeopathic remedies. I drink “calming” teas, take showers, and inhale scents advertised to promote sleep and relaxation. I even have a lavender neck pillow. Nevertheless, when I am inflicted with a bout of sleeplessness, there is usually very little I can do but wait it out. I stay away from sleep drugs.
Migraine headaches affect an estimated 36 million Americans, or about 12% of the population, surpassing asthma at 8.3% (25 million) and diabetes at 7.8% (23.6 million). Migraines are much more common in women than in men--about 3 times more common. Nearly 30% of women will experience at least one episode of migraine headaches in their lifetime, most commonly in the third and sixth decades of life. However, migraines can affect anyone at any age and from any ethnic group. In addition to indirect expenses like missed work/school and lost productivity, the American Migraine Foundation estimates that migraines cost Americans more than $20 billion annually. Migraine sufferers are also more likely to experience anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, fatigue, and other pain conditions, and those who experience visual disturbances called “auras” associated with migraines are at an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. Unfortunately, there is no cure for migraines. The best treatment options available only to seek to reduce frequency of attacks or treat an attack once one has begun, and medication use is often limited by side effects and difficulty of administration. The American Migraine Foundation itself labels current treatment options “far from perfect” and concludes, “Undoubtedly, better treatments are needed.” Filling this therapeutic void is the primary objective of NuPathe Inc. (very recently acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.) with Zecuity®, a sumatriptan iontophoretic transdermal system.
Migraines, which are three times more dominant in women than in men, are characterized by frequent attacks of moderate to severe, painful headaches that are often associated with nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to sound and light. This headache pain typically occurs on one side of the head and is described as pulsing, pounding or throbbing pain lasting 4-72 hours if left untreated. Migraines may also present with or without an aura (sensory warning symptoms).1

Insomnia Almost everyone experiences insomnia now and then. When one believes he must be in bed by a certain time every night or that he needs a certain number of hours of sleep, it may be the very thing that is preventing him from going to sleep (Munson 21). It is unfortunately true that many people still suffer from poor sleep but do not know that there are numerous programs that can help them. Insomnia, which is due to various causes and includes a vaiety of symptoms, can be reduced or eliminated in a number of ways. Stress is one of the main causes in determining insomnia. It is a fact of every day life and can be defined as any event which causes a significant emotional response. Happy occasions such as getting married, promoted, or going on a vacation can cause stress reaction, not only because because participation in the event is occurring but also in the preparation. More obvious events that occur throughout one's life are the loss of a job, a loved one, or the need for surgery. In such major life changes, the sources of the emotional response is much more easily identified (Shapiro MacFarlane Hussain 49). There are two types of stress: bad stress or negative stress which destroys your ability to operate at capacity, mentally and physically and good stress which improves your performance (Shapiro 49-50). There are different ways to reduce stress. One should try to find a job he really enjoys. It is not the stress of work that wears one out but the stress of frustration and failure. Two big causes of stress on the job are not knowing what is expected and not having adequate facts or tools. Escaping for a while is another method to help eliminate stress. One can visit a friend, go to a movie, or shop. When he returns, he can attempt to cope with the problem. However, it does not help to keep escaping, the individual should try to cope with problems as promptly as they arise (Hauri 111). Even though it is often difficult to make changes in lifestyle, the effort is worth it. Exchanging stress for a sense of control can lift a heavy weight from one's shoulders. The more control one has over his life during the day, the more likely it is that his night time sleep will become satisfying again (Hauri 113).

It’s been hard the past two years. Headaches are not fun. A headache can be just a brain freeze that lasts a couple of minuets of a migraine that lasts a couple of hours. My headaches are different they last form the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep and they might even be going on while I’m sleeping and just not know it. I’ve had these headaches for two years so far and its scary since they could be damaging my brain; I am already starting to forget things like taking my medication or texting my mom when I get home.
It may be a little difficult to sleep when the world around you is on the go, but it is essential to get some rest. Enhance your sleeping environment by sleeping with an eye mask. Eye masks promote the stages of REM sleep, which will help your body become more recharged and refresh for the next assignment. during the Rapid Eye Movement sleep stage though you are unaware, your eyes make random movements and there is a low muscle tone throughout the body. Your brain can only be strengthened if you get the rest that you need. REM sleep is essential for cognitive function, so to make sure that both your body and your brain are ready for the next shift, get some good rest!
Pain, a word that is always associated with getting hurt. The real question now is how it hurt. In life people experience many types of pain. There are two different kinds of pain; physical and mental. The physical part of pain is like falling from something, cutting your arm, or stubbing your toe. The mental part of pain is like hurting someone’s feeling from saying something harsh or doing something to them emotionally, which hurts inside. The causes and effects of physical and mental pain are very different but can be both equally devastating and even more dramatic with emotionally disturbed people.
Work or their regular lives can weigh them down and cause stress and anxiety. Some people try meditation, prayer and even plain venting to friends, but those may not be the most effective options for everyone. Sensory deprivation is a way that most people have not heard of or completely disregard as a way to achieve relaxation. It may be a costly way, but reports say that the body and mind will feel at peace and be extremely relaxed. Spas around the United States are offering types of sensory deprivation to help people relieve stress and just experience what it is like to be completely
