When I think of America, I think about white people, and the different foods, as in hotdogs, hamburgers, steak , salads and drinks like alcohol, 7 up and sprite. And of course the most popular sport football. An American Identity is created by Immigrants, Diversity and Tragedies. A way American Identity is created is the arrival of the Immigrants entering the United States for a better life. In the story “ The Immigrant Contribution” we learned that Immigrants came to the United States to better their life and a better future. John F. Kennedy stated in paragraph (2) of The Immigrant Contribution that “ People migrated to the United States for variety of reasons but nearly all shared the same hope for freedom and economic opportunity”. As Kennedy said his reasons of why he thinks Immigrants come to the US I truly believe in them as well. I think Immigrants are only trying to get here to better their life and to maybe start a new life with new opportunities. My connection to the story is that they …show more content…

Diversity is one because much has changed throughout the years and the teaching about it to the little ones as in equality for the blacks has definitely changed. In the story “ Quilt of a Country” we learned that many different ethnic cultural groups made up America. In the story of Quilt of a Country in paragraph (1) Quindlen states “ Of all nations in the world, the United States was built in nobody’s image”. I think that everything and everyone came together as one in a certain time. I believe in Quindlen statement because not only one person made America it was everyone, and that’s how America got its image by people all coming together and sharing or introducing their beliefs and traditions. My connection to the story is that America is made up of many different cultures, religions, beliefs, but at the end of everything we all come together as one even we don’t agree on
