The human psyche is an important part of every human. One of the most important subjects the human psyche impacts is survival. A main focus of the human psyche and survival is the way the human psyche plays an active role in humans needs to fend for itself and continue to survive. The human psyche is the totality of the human mind, conscious and unconscious. The three main categories of the human psyche are the id, ego and superego. Survival is the drive to stay alive or the fact of remaining alive, especially after facing life-threatening danger. On a controversial level, some humans look at survival in different ways. One example of survival would be a person who lives an average life in a suburban area. In order for them to survive, they would go to a store to buy their food and water. There is no severe life-threatening situation or any drastic behavior needed in order to “survive”. On the other hand, in a life-threatening situation where no civilization is anywhere to be found, a human must fight for their food and water by making rash and bold decisions. This severe situation can cause a dramatic change in the emotional and psychological aspects of a human. The age group that is being targeted in this topic is anybody who is a young adult. An adolescent age group is being targeted because young adults are very fragile and malleable. They are at a very important and pivotal moment in their lives where they are beginning to develop a sense of freedom and independence while still being sheltered and cared for by their guardians. The human psyche plays a role into human survival through the id’s instinctual aspect, the ego’s reality and the super ego’s conscience.

The superego endeavours to be the mediator between the selfish, immoral values of the id, and the conscious views of the ego. According to Freud, the superego contains two aspects- “One is the conscience, which is an internalization of punishments and warnings. The other is called the ego ideal. It derives from rewards and positive models presented to the child.” (Boere) Similarly to Freud, Jung separated the human psyche into three parts. However, in Jung’s understanding, the unconscious mind was separated into the ego, the collective unconscious and the personal unconscious. According to Jung and agreeing with Freud, the ego “identifies with the conscious mind” (Boere) while the personal unconscious comprises of recollections that are “easily brought to mind and those that have been suppressed for some reason.” (Boere) Jung concludes his theory of the unconscious mind with the collective unconscious which he describes as “the reservoir of our experiences as a species, a kind of knowledge we are all born with” (Boere) For example, love at first
ID and superego can fight so ego is there to control the balance. If the superego takes over a person mind It can lead him to mental illness of feeling guilty at any action he will made because a human cannot superego’s satisfaction, If the Id take over a person will act in an inappropriate way. He believes that a mental healthy person has a strong ego but in the situation when the Id or superego become dominate mental illness person will start to result anxiety to signal ego that it is facing a situation that demand action therefor ego has to make defences mechanisms to avoid the anxiety of unconscious mind and maintain a positive
In all the psychology of the personality is difficult to understand, because trying to read what someone is thinking about you and your personality is a tough process. This was roughly and explanation into the view of Freud’s view of the id, ego, and superego and some of the psychoanalysis stages that come in the crazy world and studies of Sigmund Freud. Even though his views are not popular today some people still research them and think to themselves he might not be as weird as people told me he was.

In addition to Freud’s stages of development his best-known concepts are those of the id, ego, and superego (Crain, p. 268). The id personality called ‘the unconscious” is the personality that focuses on maximizing pleasure and minimizing pain through reflexes and drives such as hunger or bladder tensions (Crain, pp. 268-269). The id concept is impulsive, chaotic and unrealistic.
Throughout time, many psychologists have had their own views about different theories. Theories direct and guide our perception of thinking. The similarities and differences can be broken down through different forms of development by Erik Erikson, Sigmund Freud, and Albert Bandura. Sigmund Freud emphasized the influence of the id, believing that the ego acts only out of borrowed energy and acts best as a commander. Sigmund Freud perceived aggression as a universal human behavior. According to Freud, we, humans are unaware of its presence because we are suppressed by the superego. In Erikson’s theory, he explains how the ego is the part of the mind that gives coherence to experiences, conscious or unconscious. Erikson agreed with Freud that the ego is responsible for human behavior and aggression. On the other hand, social learning theorist Albert Bandura suggests that behavior is learned through observation either accidentally or on purpose. This paper examines how Erikson’s psychoanalytic theory of the Ego compares and contrast to Bandura’s social learning theory.

Sigmund Freud is best known for his development and use of psychoanalysis. The theory of psychoanalysis focuses on the concept of how our unconscious thoughts, feelings, and emotions play an active role in our daily lives. The id, ego, and superego are the three mental zones that encompass our psyche. Each zone has a specific function: The id functions on the pleasure principle; the ego on the protection of the individual; and the superego on protection of society. The degree of which each zone has been developed can be broken down and then analyzed. These three zones can be visualized by imagining a pie cut into three slices.
Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory was based on the belief that human personality is made up of three components: the id, ego and superego. These three components are arranged in a hierarchy order with the id at the basal end, the ego in the middle and the super ego at the pinnacle. The id at the base, seeks instantaneous pleasure and fulfillment, driven by the pleasure principle. The id wants what it wants, when it wants it regardless of whether or not it is possible to satisfy that particular want or need. The presence or logic of reality or societal behavior has no effect on the id. For example, if an infant is thirsty and sees a bottle of water, he will take the bottle and drink even if it belonged to someone else and he did not have permission to drink, all that matters is that the needs have been met.
Ego identity is said to be one of the many things Erickson has focused on. He believed that through social interaction we gain mindful sense of ourselves, which can be commonly referred to as Ego identity. Although, Freud referred to the ego as the match over the necessities of the identity and superego, Erickson saw the ego as our way of our self-esteem. The way Erickson describes ego is the way we commonly use it in conversation. The main i...
The ego struggle to keep the id happy. The ego meets with obstacles in the world. It occasionally with objects that actually assists it in attaining it goals. The ego keeps a record of the obstacles and aides. It also keeps a record of punishments and rewards administered out by the two must influential objects in the world of a child, its mom and dad. This record of things to avoid and strategies to take becomes the superego. As stated earlier the primary function of the id is to satisfy its immediate instincts, drive and urges it superego that links the mind to society and reality. As Freud (1960) states \"superego is however, not simply a residue of the earliest choices of the id; it also represents an energetic reaction formation against those choices\" (p.24).
