The Home Changes With Time
Way up in the mountains, above the reaches of the hustle and bustle of the industrialized world, stands a large wooden house with loose shingles hanging off the roof, and the paint is chipping from years of wind and snow. The house was constructed on the slope of the mountain, and a long flight of stairs must be climbed to reach the first floor. The deck extends from the house on three sides, on both the first and second floors. It is a grand old house.
Watching my step carefully, I climbed up the long flight of stairs to the first floor. I reached my hand out to grab the handrail, only to pull it away quickly as I received a sharp prick from the rough uncared-for wood. When I finally reach the first deck of the house, I have to stop to inflate my lungs with the barely oxygenated air of 10,000 feet. I walk across the twisted and contorted deck to the dirty-white door lined by turquoise trim. The trim color seems odd now; I don't remember it from my last visit. I stick the key into the brass handle knob and swing the door open; a rush of musty air makes my nostrils flare and twitch out of control. Looking across the neat unlived in room, memories of times when people actually lived in this house fill my mind.
Spider webs tangle themselves around my head as I walk across the room towards the stairs that lead up to the second floor. I look up the dark, tight passageway of stairs, then search for the light switch that is connected to the bubble light hanging from the slanted ceiling above. After turning it to the on position, I wrap my hands around the handrails on each side and slowly pull myself up the stairs.
After reaching the second floor I turned right into an open room lit brightly by the sunlight that pours in through the large windows. There are a couple of couches placed around the room. A large floral couch, backed up against the wall, is a perfect seat to relax and stare out through the treetops at the large snow capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains. Across the room sits a smaller black futon that folds down into a double bed. Next to the futon, is a tall china cabinet filled with magnificently colored wineglasses and china plates.
I’d never been in a house like this. It had rooms off of rooms, and in each of them were deep sofas and chairs, woven carpet over polished hard-wood floors, tasteful paintings on the walls. She asked if I was hungry, and she opened the fridge and it was stuffed with food-cold cuts and cheeses, fresh

The main thesis of this article was to explain that it is not always safe to have a gun around, show the pros and cons of having a firearm, and the author gave three steps on how to make it safer. One of the main points of the author was to explain the difference between a good guy having a gun and a bad guy having a gun. As he said in the article, there are more killings with the good guys that have guns than the bad guys (Wilson, 2013). The author also talked about some of the pros and cons of having firearms. One of the pros was that if someone broke into your house, you would have a way to protect yourself, but a con would be if your child got ahold of your firearm and ended up killing himself/herself, or someone

11:14 p.m.-I slowly ascend from my small wooden chair, and throw another blank sheet of paper on the already covered desk as I make my way to the door. Almost instantaneously I feel wiped of all energy and for a brief second that small bed, which I often complain of, looks homey and very welcoming. I shrug off the tiredness and sluggishly drag my feet behind me those few brief steps. Eyes blurry from weariness, I focus on a now bare area of my door which had previously been covered by a picture of something that was once funny or memorable, but now I can't seem to remember what it was. Either way, it's gone now and with pathetic intentions of finishing my homework I go to close the door. I take a peek down the hall just to assure myself one final time that there is nothing I would rather be doing and when there is nothing worth investigating, aside from a few laughs a couple rooms down, I continue to shut the door.
Inside the nicely decorated room with taupe walls just the perfect hint of beige, lie colorful accessories with incredible stories waiting to be told. A spotless, uninteresting window hangs at the end of the room. Like a silent watchman observing all the mysterious characteristics of the area. The sheer white curtains cascade silently in the dim lethargic room. In the presence of this commotion, a sleepy, dormant, charming room sits waiting to be discovered. Just beyond the slightly pollen and dust laden screens, the sun struggles to peak around the edges of the darkness to cast a bright, enthusiastic beam of light into the world that lies beyond the spotless double panes of glass. Daylight casts a dazzling light on the various trees and flowers in the woods. The leaves of fall, showcasing colors of orange, red, and mustard radiate from the gold inviting sunshine on a cool fall day. A wonderful world comes to life outside the porthole. Colossal colors littered with, abundant number of birds preparing themselves for the long awaited venture south, and an old toad in search of the perfect log to fall asleep in for the winter.
Having good mental health allows you to feel, act or think in a normal way and live a normal life. Poor mental health can range from ordinary to more unusual problems that can make you feel unwell, and in some cases even make you lose your mind. In many cases, mental health issues developed due to a series of events or situations continuously happening in your life leaving excessive stress or anxiety disorders. For many suffering from this horrible illness, the discrimination is obvious and severe these days. In A New State of Mind: Ending the Stigma of Mental Illness the goal is to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and motivate sufferers to seek the help they need before the problem escalates.
Patients who are diagnosed with a mental illness, particularly a serious mental illness, are at risk for disparities in treatment of other medical, non-psychiatric, conditions (Li, et al., 2011). Thornicroft, Rose, & Hassam (2007) stated that much of the general population has a certain ignorance regarding mental illness and tend to make judgments against those who have been diagnosed with mental illness. A social stigma has been placed on those individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness, particularly a serious mental illness, which has been defined as those that fall on the schizophrenia spectrum or some type of mood disorder classified as bipolar disorder or major depressive disorder (Mitchell, Malone, & Doebbeling, 2009). It is the opinion of this author that the carry over of this stigma has extended to health care and the way that mentally ill patients are treated in various clinical settings. Further, this author believes that those with a documented mental illness do not receive the same quality of care that those without a documented mental illness do.
A home, many people spent their whole life in search of his or her home. It has many different definitions to different people. To some people it may be their home country, to some it may be where they were born, to some it may be where their family is. home's most basic trait is its ability to provide shelter from weather. Rain or snow, a house will always be there to shield the elements from the family. In the cold times of the year, the heater will be there to warm the house. The heat of the summer is no problem for a good home. The ideal dwelling definitely must have a dependable central air conditioner. When located in an area abundant with tornadoes and hurricanes, a home must have a safe place. A storm shelter or a basement is an excellent place to hide. But to most people home has more meaning than just dwelling it should be a place where their family is, where they could have family times together.
The public has heard many arguments that guns at home are much more likely to cause accidental injury and suicide than to defend against unknown intruders. Tragic cases deaths among juveniles as the result of shootings support this opinion, along with the incidents of adults

“Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends (Robot check).” A place becomes a home for me when I am around all the things that I enjoy and love. For example, when I am around everyone that I love, I enjoy a peaceful environment and the beautiful landscapes around me. The interpretation of home for me is not a physical thing that I see or that I can remember or even certain thoughts that I can relate, but it is a sensation that overcomes me when I envision being in the comfort of my own home. However, I know that this is a feeling that is calming to my soul and it quietly reassures me that I genuinely belong in a place where I can be free from people constantly judging me.
Fortunately, I wake every morning to the most beautiful sun lit house. I sit on my porch sipping coffee, while I drink in an atmosphere that steals my breath away. Rolling hills lay before me that undulate until they crash into golden purple mountains. Oh how they are covered in spectacular fauna, ever blooming foliage, and trees that are heavy with pungent fruit. Green it is always so green here at my house. Here where the air lays heavy and cool on my skin as does the striking rays of the sun upon my cheeks. I know in my soul why I choose to be here every day. Pocketed in all the nooks and crannies of these valleys and hills are stately homes, rich with architecture resplendent. Diversity is the palate here; ...
One of the biggest gun control arguments out there is that firearms make it easy for criminals to do as they desire. One thing must be understood above all of these things, it ...
Going up the mountain in the lift with the mountains leering over you like a huge dragon ready to pounce and the tiny houses below getting smaller and smaller as they disappear, passing through fluffy white cotton wool like clouds you must remember to hold on tight as the lift comes to a sudden abrupt jolt just before it reaches its destination at nearly the top of the mountain.
