The Holcaust was the mass murder of over ten million European 'undesireables' between 1941 and 1945 by the Nazi regime. Hitler and his Nazi's established a large number of labor and death camps throughout Nazi occupied countries. A holocaust, by definition, is a mass human slaughter caused by fire. These events Hitler authorized were categorized as a holocaust because after the prisoners in the camps died, or, if they were at a labor camp, close enough to death that they were no longer of any use to the Nazi guards stationed at the camp they were at, the guards would burn the bodies in mass.

The purpose, center and esence of the Holocaust lies within one man, Adolf Hitler. There was really nothing special about him, he started out as just a kid who liked art. Who would have thought that this man could have almost succeded in world domination world domination. In 1921, Hiter gained control of the National Socialist German Workers Party, who later became known to be the Nazi party. In 1923, Adolf Hitler was arrested and sent to prision for an attempted Coup d'etat, or illegal overthrow of government. He was sentenced to five years in jail, but since the German government was weakened due to World War I (WWI), he only served nine months. While he was imprisoned, he wrote a book, Mein Kampf, or My Struggle, as it is translated to in English. In his book, he talked about his thoughts for a 'perfect' Germanic race. This race is known as the Aryan race. The Aryan race consisted of people with fair skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. Since he pictured a surperior race, he thought there were weaker races as well. He wrote about a group of people he categorized as 'undesireables', which consisted of people of the Jewish religion, Communists, ...

...Italy and Japan, who's initial goal was world domination while the Allied powers, made up of the United States, Russia and England wanted to prevent it. This war is come to be known as the most deadly war in history because of the death of almost 11 million people in the consentration camps. The Allied powers won the war, putting an end to Hitler's dictatorship and the Holocaust.

We study history to learn from it. People make mistakes and it is not only our job, but our responsibility to learn from them so no one makes those errors again. What we learn from the Holocaust is what happens when you forget your morals and blindly follow others. We learn the horrible, tragic outcome of racism and discrimination. We learn that when good does nothing, evil takes over. We study the Holocaust because it is not only important, but essential that we do not repeat history.
