Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment”. This quote explains how hard it is to truly fit in today’s society because people are constantly faced with obstacles of people who are trying to make into someone you were not made to be. When someone is able to be themselves around other it makes them stand out in the crowd and makes their peers truly notice them. Being able to be yourself in today’s society proves that you are able to get past the judgement of others, accepting yourself as a person, and able to stand your ground when it comes to obstacles in your life.

Someone that is able to have confidence in themselves proves that they accept who they are, love what they are, and are proud of what they have become. Confidence can come in many shapes and sizes but just having a little can be enough because that can make you stand out from others around you. For example, my best friend has been bullied for a few years fro having a muscular body from doing gymnastics. She cannot help that she is muscular because it proves that she has been working hard for something she loves. Though the bullying got to her and changed how she thought of herself, she eventually realized that this is who she is and she was in love with her muscular body. She embraced her body and did not care about the people who would mimic her and she became confident in herself and pushed herself harder. Some may say that confidence does not help you stand out because some can build up their confidence which makes them become conceited in a way that it could turn someone into a person they are not. This may be true but being confident and conceited can have many different meanings to it. Just because you are conceited does not mean that someone is full of themselves it just shows that they are in love with what they see everyday when they wake up in the morning and they are proud with whom they have
