In chapter 1, The Great Gatsby is narrated by Nick Carraway around the 1920s. As the story begins, Nick was seeking his wealth in bond salesmen so he moved from the Midwest to West Egg, Long Island. Nick goes to visit his cousin Daisy and her husband, Tom Buchanan in East Egg. Nick meets Daisy’s friend, Jordan Baker, a professional golf player. As the four lounged around the estate, they chatted about the lifestyle in the East Egg and other critical matters. During that conversation, Nick brings up how mysterious Gatsby is his neighbor. Daisy is interested to hear about her loving Gatsby. Daisy did not hint that she and Gatsby had an extremely intimate relationship back in the day. Myrtle is a middle-class woman whose husband runs a modest garage and gas station in the valley of the suburbs. Tom discretely tells Myrtle to take another route to the inner city to meet him at their apartment. After they arrive at the city, Myrtle calls her friends for drinks over her and Tom’s apartment. The party animals continue to party and participate in reckless behavior. Nick tries to leave because he is not attracted to that type of entertainment. However, he finds himself very intrigued in the particular group. When Nick announces he lives in the West Egg, one of the drunks say how marvelous Gatsby’s parties are. As day goes on, Myrtle becomes more and more drunk. She begins to talk about Daisy. Tom constantly warns her about mentioning his wife, but Myrtle insists on speaking on Daisy’s gentle behalf. The day eventually ended with Tom and Myrtle fighting about Daisy. Tom acts redundantly and punches Myrtle in her nose. After all the commotion, their company decides to leave. Nick now drunk walks a friend of Myrtle home. Nick then gets on a train in the early morning and heads back to his home in the West
