Jonas slowly woke up. He could see people around him. They seemed familiar. Then he recognized them. It was Rosemary. And Larissa. And many other people from the community who were released.

“Are you okay?” Rosemary asked.
“Jonas, is that you? And who is this?” Larissa said looking at Gabe.
Jonas replied, “It's me, Jonas, and this is my brother Gabriel. We left the community to so that we could release all the memories back to the community.”

Jonas explained to them that he and the Giver had a plan to leave the community with all the memories so that we could release them to the public. Jonas told them that the Giver was too old to come with me and he had to stay and help the community deal with all the pain and confusion of all the memories He had brought Gabriel with him and that he is a lot bigger than when they had left. He could walk and learned to talk thanks to all the memories.

“You have gone a long way. You should get some rest,” said Larissa.

They survived the trip on only memories of food. They ate so many that Rosemary had to leave and get some more. Then they went outside and Rosemary showed them around the town. They saw stores, buildings, libraries, schools, and many more. Then Rosemary got a ball and the three of them started playing around with the ball. Jonas and Gabriel had enjoyed being here. They spent weeks and weeks here and enjoyed themselves. They decided they would stay with Rosemary though he still missed Fiona. Jonas had decided to go for a walk. He walked over the hill that he had came from and just would look far out thinking about what it would be like if he had stayed. Then he saw something moving.
