The Geography of New Zealand
The well-known country of New Zealand is a small, resourceful nation
located 1,000 miles off Australia's south east coast. New Zealand has an
impressive economy that continues to grow, a physical landscape that attracts
people from around the globe, and although small, New Zealand is a respected
nation for its advanced civilization and stable government. The geography of
this prestigious nation can be described through five principal categories, the
physical geography, the cultural geography, the citizens' standard of living,
the government, and the nation's economy.
New Zealand is located in the southern hemisphere, with an absolute
location of 37 degrees south longitude to 48 degrees south longitude and 167
degrees east latitude to 177 degrees east latitude. It is composed of two major
islands named the North and South Islands, and the total land area of the nation,
approximately divided equally between the two islands, is 103,470 square miles.
Surprisingly, only 2 percent of the land area is arable. New Zealand has an
abundance of natural resources, explaining why the country is so wealthy
compared to other nations. These resources include fertile grazing land, oil
and gas, iron, coal, timber, and excellent fishing waters.
New Zealand's climate is basically moderate year round because of the
nearby ocean that regulates the climate. New Zealand enjoys a marine west coast
climate, that on average produces sixty to eighty degree temperatures in January
and forty to sixty degree temperatures in July. Because it is surrounded by the
ocean, New Zealand receives immense quantities of precipitation on both islands.
The average annual precipitation on the North Island is thirty to forty inches
and on the South Island it is forty to fifty inches. This climate produces
mixed forests, mid-latitude deciduous forests, and temperate grassland
vegetation. The terrain is dominated by meadows, pastures, wood lands, and a
small chain of mountains called the Southern Alps. The land is blanketed with
small lakes and rivers that drain the highlands and empty into the ocean. The
extraordinary diversity of the physical geography found in the United States
seems to have been duplicated in this relatively small country, where...

With a 6.2 percent economic growth rate, New Zealand could soon have one of the
top five economies in the world.
New Zealand is among the world's finest countries, because of its
exquisite landscape and first-rate economy. With an excellent standard of
living, perfect climate, and majestic terrain, New Zealand for many people is an
ideal place to live. Every year hundreds of thousands of people tour New
Zealand just to catch a glimpse of what many proclaim to be paradise, and after
researching this report, I intend to someday be one of those tourists.

Ask yourself “if I could take a trip ANYWHERE where would I go” well, I asked myself the same question where would I go? Here is my answer, I would go to the Bahamas because I think that I need to try something new. I think that if I went to the Bahamas then i would try everything because i am very deprived as in i don’t take advantage of the things i could be doing.
Perhaps more than any other nation in the world, Japan is shaped by its geography to a tremendous extent. Technically classified as an archipelago, Japan is a curved chain of four islands (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu, plus over a thousand smaller islands). However, it is first and foremost an island nation, a fact which isolated Japan from the rest of the world. The second largest influence in Japanese geography is the size of the nation. The total area of Japan proper is a little under 143 thousand square miles; the contiguous United States spreads across just over 3 million. To say that
If New Zealand is to see more growth in tourism we must try and make the country more attractive to visit. More flights, low visa requirements, favorable exchange rates are all facilitators that will make New Zealand more appealing. With a high level of promotions overseas that will motivate tourists to think of our country as a destination which will be able to satisfy their needs.
The history of New Zealand begins between 800 A.D. and 1300 A.D., when the Māori people arrived from Polynesia to the mountainous island they called “Aotearoa.” The people “lived in tribal groups” fairly peacefully (Wilson). However, life began to change for the Māori people when they first came into contact with a European in 1642, when Dutch explorer Abel Tasman “discovered” the island. In 1769, “[James] Cook successfully circumnavigated and mapped the country” (History). These explorations marked the beginning of Europeanization for the young country of New Zealand. Whalers and traders soon arrived, and missionaries arrived in 1814. When the Māori met with Europeans, events followed a similar path to the colonization of America and the decimation of the native populations-- “contribution of guns…, along with European diseases, led to a steep decline in the [population of] Māori people.” (History). Consequentially, “their chieftains entered into a compact with Britain, the Treaty of Waitangi, in which they ceded sovereignty to Queen Victoria while retaining territorial rights,” in...
The country that I am doing for my report is New Zealand. New Zealand is made up of two Islands. The north and the south islands. It is located in the south pacific by Australia.
It has three major island groups which are the Luzon, the largest island and where the capital is located; Visayan, and Mindanao. Eleven islands make up 94 percent of the Philippine landmass, and two of these--Luzon and Mindanao--measure 105,000 and 95,000 square kilometers, respectively. They, together with the cluster of the Visayan Islands that separate them, represent the three principal regions of the archipelago (many scattered islands in a large body of water) that are identified by the three stars on the Philippine flag.

New Zealand is very narrow with more than 15,000 km of coastline. It has a total area of 268,000 square kilometers. The Southern Alps is one of the most amazing characteristics of the South Island. There are 18 peaks in total that are over 3,000 meters. Compared to the South Island, the North Island has less mountains but has volcanoes instead.
One of my greatest hobbies is travelling the globe and I love to see new places. I enjoy experiencing new environment and culture. There are many countries to visit around the world and each country has something unique to offer. In every country, there are many beautiful places to see and tradition to learn. However, the country I have always wanted to visit is Italy. Italy is located in Europe and it is famous for its ancient history, architectural heritage, culture and even food. It is my dream to visit Italy with my family one day.
I am planning a trip to my dream destination, the United Kingdom! I have always dreamed of going to London and exploring all of the beautiful landscapes the country has to offer. On my voyage I will be accompanied by my boyfriend, Damian, and my younger sister, Taylor. Before we can begin our journey we have to do the proper research so our trip will be everything we want it to be.
