It all started almost 80 years ago and the history of it will never be forgotten. The Holocaust was the mass murder of approximately six million Jews that took place during World War II. There were nine million Jews who lived in Europe before the Holocaust, that means approximately two-thirds of them were killed. There were over one million Jewish children that were killed in the Holocaust, and there were almost two million Jewish women and three million Jewish men were also killed in the Holocaust. The Holocaust was controlled by a man named Adolf Hitler and his army of men who helped him. They were called the National Socialist German Workers, also known as “The Nazi Party” for short.
The Nazis used a phrase called “The Final Solution” to the Jewish Question. This phrase was used as a term for the killings of the Jews. They would often use the German term “lebensunwertes Leben" in reference to the Jews and other victims they killed. The term they used meant “Life unworthy of life” meaning they didn’t feel like their victims were worthy enough of living and this is how they justified themselves of killing so many people. They would take all their victims and put them in Extermination camps (also known as death camps).
The purposes of the camps were to kill millions of people by execution (mostly by gassing) and for people to work long and hard hours under starvation conditions. The Nazi were literally trying to wipe out the entire Jewish race. They didn’t even expect most of prisoners taken to the Belzec, Sobibor or Treblinka extermination camps to survive more than a few hours beyond arrival. They would use gas vans and the gas chambers to produce poison and carbon monoxide exhaust fumes. They were made use at th...

...took place in world history. It really left a black mark on 20th century that many people want to forget. The Holocaust lasted for 12 years, all the way up until 1945. Starting as early as 1944, the Allies were coming up with plans on how to wipe out the German attacks and they began to take over the concentration camps. In July 1944, the people who were trapped at a camp in Poland called Maidanek were freed by the Soviets. After that, many more people were freed and there were many more liberations and takeovers and Hitler began to lose power. In January of 1945, the concentration camp Auschwitz was liberated. This was major because this was actually the biggest camp in the Nazi territory and it was also the one where most of the deaths occurred. The breakdown of this camp played a huge part with in the end of the Holocaust.

The Holocaust could be best described as the widespread genocide of over eleven million Jews and other undesirables throughout Europe from 1933 to 1945. It all began when Adolf Hitler, Germany's newest leader, enforced the Nuremburg Race Laws. These laws discriminated against Jews and other undesirables and segregated them from the rest of the population. As things grew worse, Jews were forced to wear the Star of David on their clothing. The laws even stripped them of their citizenship.
The Holocaust was the time period when Adolf Hitler was in control of the territory of Germany and wanted the extinction of the Jews. The Holocaust was a very vigorous on the Jews because they were treated the worst and had the worst living conditions. The Holocaust derived the Jews of their wealth, and little bit of humanity that they held dear to themselves. Adolf Hitler established laws to make it basically illegal to be a Jew in Germany. Since Adolf Hitler was in power he commanded that all Jews properties and valuables be taken. For example, in the book “Maus” it states, “He had to sell his business to a German and run out from the country without even the money.”(

It all started when Adolf Hitler came into power. The Holocaust should never be forgotten because first of all, there were too many deaths. Second, because they were innocent people who
The origin of “The Final solution” is unknown because it was thought up by multiple people over a long period of time. The origin of the "Final Solution," the Nazi plan to exterminate the Jewish people, remains uncertain under the rule of Adolf Hitler. The "Final Solution" was implemented in stages. After the Nazi party rise to power, state-enforced racism resulted in anti-Jewish legislation and finally the "Night of Broken Glass" pogrom, all of which aimed to remove the Jews from German society. After the beginning of World War II, anti-Jewish policy evolved into a comprehensive plan to concentrate and eventually annihilate European Jewry. They did this by setting up ghettos and concentration camps throughout the land of Germany. There were many concentration camps, but the biggest one, Autawitz, was the worst, because it killed millions of Jews in so many unthinkable ways.
The Holocaust was the great plan to make Jews to become instinct and other people that Hitler considered inferior to him. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis in Germany led this great plan from 1933 to 1945. Approximately twelve million people had their lives taken, half being Jews. Everything changed and became impacted all around the world when Hitler took over Germany, he had a strong prejudice against the Jews. His goal was to create the perfect race of human, blonde hair, blue eyed Germans. The soldiers in Hitler’s camp was his followers, the Nazis, which did all of his dirty work for him. There were also many other people that contributed to his massive event. There became different clans and groups of people going out on their own and doing the killing also, not only Jews. For example, the doctors that ran test on people and experimented on the people didn’t care about their patients wellbeing or health

At first, the camps were controlled by the Gestapo (police), but by 1934 the S.S. (Hitler's personal security force) was ordered, by Hitler, to control the camps. (Feig, 20) These camps were set up for many different purposes: Some for forced labor, others for medical experiments and, later on, for the mass destruction of the Jews. (Feig, 21) However, there was never a clear idea from camp to camp as to the true purpose. Was it to extract labor or merely to kill? We do know that Auschwitz was designed for those three reasons stated. Its ultimate goal though was to exterminate as many people possible in the shortest amount of time.
Soon after Germany separated from Austria in March 1938, the Nazi soldiers arrested and imprisoned Jews in concentration camps all over Germany. Only eight months after annexation, the violent anti-jew Kristallnacht , also known as Night of the Broken Glass, pogroms took place. The Nazi soldiers arrested masses of male adult Jews and held them captive in camps for short periods of time. But this wasn’t enough the Nazi party they wanted them gone from the world a complete genocide. At the Wannsee Conference in 1942, the Germans came up with a solution to their “Jew Problem” (The History Place holocaust timeline). They planned to wipe 11 million people from the face of the earth, at a faster rate than their camps natural causes (starvation and over working), and treatment accordingly policy (gas chambers) (The History Place holocaust timeline). This is horrific to think of a governing body having a convention to map out the genocide of a whole race and regarding said plan as a solution. The Nazis started to carry out complete genocide against the socially undesired and with every inch the Allies made closer to stopping the harder they relentlessly pushed to finish the extermination. The Nazis began to feel the tables of war turning against their favor and started to try to finish the final solution. Seeing the end near the Nazi party started to kill the problem quicker using mass graves with firing squads, and pushing more people to the gas chamber. Hitler surrounded by Allies soldiers sees no way out and takes his own life instead taking the embarrassment of loss and being charged with crimes of war. The war was over but Hitler’s death camps claimed the lives of approximately six million

Groups such as handicaps, Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholics, Poles, Soviet prisoners of war, political dissidents and others were persecuted by the Nazis because of their religious/political beliefs, physical defects, or failure to fall into the Aryan ideal.
