In “The Enchantress Circe” and “The Sirens; Scylla and Charybdis” by Homer shows bias towards women. In the stories, Odysseus faced five female monsters on his trip. Women are portrayed as being distracting, evil, and even powerful. Women can be distracting especially to men. “In the entranceway, they stayed to listen there: inside her quiet house they heard the goddess Circe” (673). The men stopped what they were doing to go listen to Circe and get invited in the house to eat and get some wine. “The lovely voices in ardor appealing over the water made me crave to listen” (681).
