The discovery of Kepler-186f is a huge venture to discovering planets like our planet Earth .This planet is named Kepler-186f and it is one of five planets that have hitherto been caught by NASA's Kepler space telescope in circle about the star Kepler-186. This star is more diminutive and cooler than the Sun, of a sort called a M-dwarf or red dwarf, and all it’s referred to planets are little too, with sizes short of what 1.5 times the measure of Earth. The planet Kepler-186f is the most modest, being inside 10% of the measure of Earth and circles farthest from the host star, inside the habitable zone. This is the locale around a star inside which a planet can support fluid water on its surface given the right atmospherical conditions. The research area of detecting exoplanets, planets outside our own solar system, is a huge area of interest and funding. The importance of being able to detect these planets is they can give us information and an insight into planetary formation, to help the search for ”Earth- like” planets in the habitable zone, and of course the ever-present question of extraterrestrial life. So on order to attempt to gather information about these things we must be have solid detection techniques in place for exoplanets. A few of the important methods shall be discussed here, including the radial velocity method, transit method, direct imaging and gravitational microlensing among others .
To begin, many people did not support the new scientific discoveries because it would contradict religious doctrine. John Calvin, a French Protestant theologian, believed that science was only useful if it was used to glorify God (Doc 2). For many people, God was held higher than science and they took offense at the radical idea of the opposite, that science was higher than God. In fact, Giovanni Ciampoli, an Italian monk, wrote to Galileo telling him that he understood his ideas but that he should not share them publicly because he is not a clergyman, therefore people would not listen to him (Doc 3). The majority of people have a very basic understanding of Earth, the planet we reside in, let alone the seven other planets in our solar system. The eight planets surrounding our star, the Sun, are separated into two very simple categories: Jovian and Terrestrial Planets. Throughout this paper, I will be explaining the basic structure and properties of the eight planets in our solar system, along with a brief history on the discovery of our solar system and what’s to come in the future. I will also go in depth into the difference between the Jovian Planets and the Terrestrial Planets, from the basic differences to the different structures and properties.

As technology advances on Earth, increased standards of living and life expectancy have taken a toll on Earth’s fleeting, finite resources. Kepler potentially provides scientists with information regarding planets that can serve as a future home when resources have diminished and information that can foreshadow inevitabilities about Earth through older, Earth-like planets. Kepler’s primary mission is to discover extrasolar planets within a habitable zone that have sizes relatively similar to that of Earth’s. Previous planetary research detected giant planets that were much more massive than Earth. In addition to detection, Kepler is designed to examine the planets and stars that reside in the Earth-like planet’s system.
Although Pluto was discovered in 1930, limited information on the distant planet delayed a realistic understanding of its characteristics. Today Pluto remains the only planet that has not been visited by a spacecraft, yet an increasing amount of information is unfolding about this peculiar planet. The uniqueness of Pluto's orbit, rotational relationship with its satellite, spin axis, and light variations all give the planet a certain appeal.
On the quest to further inspire Eminem, we start with Kepler-283c. This is a planet that is 1,700 light years away from our home planet. Researchers believe that the outer part of the planet is part of the hospitable zone.
In conclusion, the discoveries of the Kepler mission have raised questions in many different fields about the possibility of extraterrestrial life. As we come to understand our universe more, the future of astronomy is beginning to resemble science fiction. All things considered, the field of astronomy is coming closer to achieving even more progress and possibly finding an answer to this perplexing question. For now, Kepler’s planetary candidates are under examination. The results are thrilling for not only science, but for human civilization.
It is without a doubt that the most fascinating thing about space is the possibility of life elsewhere beside Earth. It is estimated that the Milky Way Galaxy itself contains about 300 billion stars. Each star contains planets and some planets might even have moons. With these findings, the question is no longer whether life exists elsewhere. The probability that Earth is the only place where life exists in the universe is far too slim. NASA has identified many planets that have similar conditions to Earth but most of these planets are hundreds of light years away so traveling there to find out if there’s any living organism is not easy. Luckily, scientific evidences have pointed out that one of the moons of Jupiter, Europa, could be one of the places where life can exist. If the theories proposed by astronomers about Europa are true, life on Europa might not even be entirely different than life near the bottom of Earth’s oceans.
Right alongside the fifth and largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter, orbits a moon only about the same size as Earth’s moon. On this moon, is an icy surface that scientists are trying to uncover. Due to the presence of what they believe to be water, there is the possibility of life on this moon named Europa.
My client, Nicolaus Copernicus, discovered the Heliocentric or “Sun-centered” theory in 1543. The “Sun-centered” theory explains, that our universe revolves around the Sun and not the Earth. Because of this theory, he is being thrown in jail. For coming up with a sun correct theory! He reached this theories conclusion after a lot of studying and research. He also has evidence to why his theory is true and to why he should not be thrown in jail. The two main reasons to why he does not deserve to be thrown in jail. First, just because Copernicus dedicated one of his books to Pope Paul lll and said that the Catholic church should take things more easily, does not mean he was being rude to the pope. Second, Copernicus also has evidence to support his theory. Also, some might think his argument is weak and they shouldn’t believe him.
Our 1989 translation of Starry Messenger was in print form from The University of Chicago Press. This translation makes it easier to understand Galileo because it is written in English which gave us a greater understanding of Galileo’s work. However, Galileo's original words and illustrations were altered. This was apparent in the illustration of the Orion constellation which compared to our 1610 facsimile the dimensions and amount of stars were different. It states it translated Wesley College’s copy which makes it impossible to verify the exact differences between the two. When looking at Jupiter's moons the publisher used a composite polymer form of image duplication and still had difficulty printing and suffered from of excess ink. Many
Perhaps one of the most interesting features of our fathomless universe are the planets that are classified as gas giants. Huge, turbulent, and distant, the gas giants are some of the most enigmatic features in our Solar System. I have a personal interest to the gas giants and celestial bodies in general. When I was a child, I was fascinated by our Solar System. I read innumerable books about space, and my interests of outer space had been piqued further by other forms of media. Although I held this interest of space, growing up left me with little time to learn about space, and I lost interest for a while. Taking Earth Science in Milpitas High re-invigorated my interests in the celestial bodies. Using this class, I’m now able to focus on learning more about our colossal universe, in particular, the outer planets.
One thing us as humans have never been able to fully understand is astronomy. Always having an unexplained mystery, astronomy also has served as a way to keep time and predict the future. The word “astronomy” is defined as the study of heavenly bodies, meaning anything in the sky such as stars, galaxies, comets, planets, nebulae, and so on. Many people, if not everyone, is amazed by the night sky on a clear, moonless night.
