The Dangers of Being a Cop Officers put their life on the line every time they put on their uniform. Protecting the community from harm and risking their own lives and that’s what people forget. Yes, there are bad cops out there but there are also a lot of good ones too that don’t get recognized because there is so much attrition to the people doing wrong in this world. There are so many things that go on when it comes to arresting someone who is strung out on drugs the officers have taken caution cause of the exposure to infectious diseases, the violence, and the actions of the offender that turns into deadly force from both the officers and suspect. People who are not officers don’t understand the dangers of the job. The violence of the suspect is unknown and has to always be taken with complete caution when approaching a suspect under the influence because they don’t know how they are going to react when being approached by an officer. The actions of the suspect will always result in the officer’s use of deadly force because they are not uncontrollable due to the fact that they are under the influence of drugs. People who are under the influence of drugs are unpredictable and uncontrollable which causes the officers to take the course of action to a higher level. They sill deserve respect even if they are drug abusers. Yes, that is true although there have been so many cases when these drug abusers are non-responsive and not taking a simple command which escalades out of control. Therefore, giving someone complete trust when approaching people like that is putting an officer’s life in danger because they may have deadly weapons on them that could harm the
