The quinceañera is a celebration of a girl’s journey into womanhood. The story of my fifteenth birthday is contributed for a better understanding of how special it is to celebrate a girl’s transformation into a lady, and how it differs from any other birthday she celebrates.

Mexico which was the colony of New Spain was put in existence for the advantage of their mother country. After the tumble of the Aztec Empire, Spain retitled the captured lands as the “viceroyalty” of New Spain and governed Mexico for three hundred years. Tenochtitlan was the prior capital of the territory and turned into what is known as Mexico City. After studying and obtaining power over some of the lands in Central Mexico, the Spanish government established a colonial mining technique wherein gold, silver, and additional metals were obtained and taken to Spain. Shadowing the techniques that was started in Spain, the colonial authorities granted the new arrivals and warriors the power to make haciendas near the country. The laborers most times were native people that were paid poorly which made them rely on the hacienda proprietor to maintain a living. Some of the workers
The Chichimeca Wars have been a major role in the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs. The wars or mini battles between the two sides occurred from 1550-1590, when much of the new colony of Mexico had already been established. The Spanish ended up engaging in the longest and most expensive conflict they ever had with an Indigenous people. The Chichimeca people were a nomadic group of people who lived in a desert basin that was roughly 60,000 square miles of land, where they were hunters and gathers. They were not a single tribe either; they people of the tribe were made up of four different ethnic tribes that on occasion would join each other in battle. The wars started after the land in which the tribe lived was found to be abundant in silver ore and led to the Spanish establishing mines on the Chichimeca’s territory. This upset the tribe and they started to raid Spanish convoys that were on their way to deliver supplies to the mines and miners. The Spanish then enlisted the help of their native allies by setting up forts along the routes with solders and allied Native Americans to help protect the convoys traveling across Chichimecan territory. The Spanish government then adopted a policy of “War of Fire and Blood” which meant the death and enslavement, as well as mutilation of the Chichimeca people. The policy had no effect and failed. So instead they decided making peace with the natives was a better option. A Bishop proposed a Christian remedy to the problem and that was to convert the Chichimecan people to Christianity. The steps the Spanish followed to end the war and create peace where negotiate peace agreements, covert, resettle Native American allies provide food, commodities and tools to encourage them to become sedentary. My family isn 't very traditional or at least like a traditional Latino Family. We 're not Catholic, and I don 't get hit with the traditional "chancla", but One trip we try and do every once in a while, is a trip to Ensenada, México to spend time together at the beach. My mother 's family is very large, she 's the eldest of eight children, six women, and two men. Having many aunts and uncles means I have a ton of cousins. From my mother, I 'm the youngest since it 's my older brother and I and he 's twelve years older than me. My trip to Ensenada Mexico ties into who I am as a person because I enjoy to travel and I 'm very family oriented.
Mexico City is the capital of Mexico as well as the most populated city within Mexico. Many people that are not familiar with Mexico or its rich culture tend to cross it off their list of possible destinations when planning their vacations, little do they know that they are missing a truly unique and diverse experience. There are so many things to do, see, and experience in Mexico City that one could stay for months and still not take in everything the city has to offer. From its rich history, remarkable art exhibits, lively street entertainment, and amazing Latin America food, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Dichos are widespread proverbs, witticisms, adages, and sayings that, through constant repetition, pass on many of the values that are important to Mexican families and society as a whole (Roy 288). The American equivalent would be called folk wisdom or “old wives’ tales.” They both confer advice gained over generations. For example, the English saying “an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” presents the idea that mistreating others because they mistreated you does not solve the problem but perpetuates it and even makes it worst. Such popular sayings transmit what a culture deems significant. Examining such sayings allows us to focus our attention on basic ideologies accepted within the culture (Roy 288).

It has been a very long time that I haven’t been to Mexico for so many years and the reason being because of how many things have happened so fast after the last time I actually went to see my family over at Mexico. All I see now is a still photo of me with my family taking a portrait of us completing church service after my grandparents have gotten married with each other and still remember in my head that very moment. Today I am going to write about how it all led to the last moment I managed to have a more heartfelt but sad moment with my family before I had to go back to my birth home which is in the United States.
The last time I went to Mexico was probably the best time . My Spanish is completely trash. This happened before I had Spanish class (That class didn’t teach me anything new. If you wanna learn Spanish and the culture, then just hangs out with Mexicans, if I’m gonna be honest.) I only know the amount of Spanish that I need to know. I can understand it when others talk to me, but I’m never sure how to respond. The last thing I wanted to do in Mexico was to see my favorite cousin David and I’m glad I did.
I was born in Brownsville, Texas. The contradictable point is that I lived the majority of my life in Mexico where I attended a private Catholic School in Mexico because I was raised in a Catholic family. Thanks to the school and my family I gained different virtues and values that I still appreciate up to now. Some of this virtues and values are respect, generosity, patience, honesty, loyalty and optimism. These are the characteristics that have helped me be successful in my life. However, they were tested when I moved to a boarding school.
