The Challenges and Effects of Being Homelessness

Homelessness affects families ways of living. Many within the country are faced with the challenges of homelessness. They have to suffer from many challenges physically and mentally. It affects the whole family from before they were born until the day they die. Homelessness affects their jobs and education also. Homelessness has a big impact on their life.
Homelessness affects a vast number of people. In the United States over 100 million people are homeless (Stearman 9). In fact, between 600,000 and 760,000 people are homeless every night (Hurley 31),and 1.3 million people are homeless at some point each year (“Impact of Homelessness on Children” 1). Unfortunately, homeless people are forced to live on the streets, in abandoned premises or find overnight community shelters. Still a vast majority of the homeless community don’t have a roof over their head.
People become homeless because of multiple reasons such as war and natural disasters. Some may have had abusive partners, been divorce or suffered a loss of their spouse. Furthermore, an insufficient income, were unemployed or discriminated led to homelessness. There are also many people homeless because of the marriage rates.
Homelessness may result in some very detrimental outcomes. Emergency room visits may result from being ran over by a car or violence in family disagreements. Homelessness can lead people to engage in numerous dangerous or criminal activities. This may be more prevalent in families who have been together longer as a means of survival. Some homeless people may be arrested for living on the streets or forced to relocate by the police. In some countries, children are killed living on the streets because laws don’t allow loitering. Women occasionally have a hard time maintaining a relationship because of their past experiences. More than ninety percent of mothers have experienced physical and sexual assault. The difficult surroundings affect the mothers feelings of adequacy. The mother usually has one of their children living in a different shelter, than where they are living in. The mother herself has lived in a shelter when she was young and now. The women tend to be stressed because of their frequent poverty.
There are many people who are homeless in the United States. They have had it very rough in life because they don’t have the same advantages as the middle class. The homeless have to make some difficult decisions in order to keep their family safe and living. Homelessness affects their health by diseases and mentally by trauma. Homelessness affects families and their way of life.
